I needed the string, but to me it was expensive. Between the cost of the string, with no holder, and the shipping is was about $15.00!

Butchers string is hard to find except at the expensive cooking supply store. This price is a great deal even with shipping.

I would prefer a heavier gauge string, but this will work or can be doubled for most jobs.

This is a good heavy pure cotton string that fits so well in the stainless container also available on this site. I bought them both together and they make a great team. Functionality. Organization. Can't beat it.

Don't use twine a lot for cooking, so I chose the small ball of twine. But seem to last me 3-5 decades of cooking. Fits perfectly to the dispenser that I purchased along with it. By the way, dispender is neat and nice-looking.
