Food safe butcher's string is made from FDA approved 100% biodegradeable cotton. Cotton cooking twine is indispensible in the kitchen, and not just for cooking meat. While it is generally used for trussing poultry and roasts, it is also wonderful for securing asparagus for steaming or bunches of herbs for flavoring soups and stews. This biodegradable butcher's string is made from 100 percent cotton and comes in a convenient center-pull ball, so you won't have to worry about it rolling away as you use it. 185 feet.

  • cotton butcher string

I needed the string, but to me it was expensive. Between the cost of the string, with no holder, and the shipping is was about $15.00!

    I recommend this product.

  • Good quanity on a hard to find product

It's amazing how hard it is to find butcher's twine. Cooking.com has a fair price, and no more looking all over town for it.

    I recommend this product.

  • Good, strong twine

I had a little difficulty opening the top of the package and finding the "starting" end, but once I got it going, it worked well self dispensing. It does the job and holds turkey legs and wings together neatly.

    I recommend this product.

  • Overpriced.

This twine works very well for tying poultry and meats, but it can be purchased, much to my chagrin after I bought it, for far less at the local farm supply store. However it does fit nicely into the stainless dispenser that the Food Nework Store also sells.

    I recommend this product.

I misplaced this item right out of the box. It was to be a replacement for my dwindling spool. Can't live without a ball in the kitchen. Guess i"ll have to order another soon. This stuff is hard to find and Cooking.com is so convenient with a fair price.

  • This Butchers' String meets every expectation

This is a good heavy pure cotton string that fits so well in the stainless container also available on this site. I bought them both together and they make a great team. Functionality. Organization. Can't beat it.
