With the RSVP International 18 x 18-in Marble Pastry Board, you can roll out your dough like a professional. Many pastry chefs and serious home bakers prefer rolling dough on marble surfaces. Because marble stays a few degrees cooler than room temperature, your dough will stay cold, which makes it easier to handle. To get the board colder, chill it in the refrigerator before rolling out your dough. When making puff pastry or pie crust, the coolness of the marble will prevent the butter in the dough from getting too soft, so you can always be assured of flaky, perfectly prepared pastry. It also helps prevent dough from sticking when rolling it out. This means you need to dust with less flour, which can make your crusts and doughs tough and chewy. The large surface area of this RSVP International product gives you ample space to work with pizza dough, rolled cookie dough and pastry dough. Featuring plastic feet, this pastry board provides a stable work surface that won't tilt while you're rolling your dough. These feet also protect your counter or table from scratches. Because they're constructed of natural marble, each of these pastry boards is slightly different. You'll get to enjoy your own unique, beautiful grain pattern.

This gorgeous marble board supersedes the imagination. Right out of the box the piece was flawless. Some reviewers reported problems with cracks, this was not my experience. It's sturdy construction coupled with the marbles' crystalline high gloss finish makes this pastry board an excellent feast for the eye and utility. I purchased a marble rolling pin to match the board- this made one dynamic duo! I recommend this product to lovers of beauty and quality.
I love the marble pastry board-I also have a marble rolling pin which I put in the refrigerator before using it. Pie making this year was the easiest ever-the crust rolled out easily without sticking & I was able to make a better circle. The board is heavy but what are husbands for!
the marble pastry board is large enough for everything so far. The price was great compared to those other places. This board is heavy- it haas some weight so it stays where you wnat it to and it won't walk or wobble. I really like it.
The only problem with this pastry marble --- and the reason I rate it as only middling --- is that the mounts on the bottom were slightly uneven. In order to get the board level and eliminate a small but very annoying wobble, I had to attach felt pads to the bottoms of the supports --- which might be a good idea anyway to protect your counter surface.
Have been looking for this board for a long, long time. I was pleasantly surprised to find it at Cooking, but thinking about it, it was really no surprise at all. Cooking has the best up-to-date products for kitchen and home necessities, good prices and excellent customer service.
despite the incredible packaging of the slab, when I opened it, the surface felt gritty. After careful inspection, I noticed two very small chips on one side, about 1/8th of an inch. Not enough to worry about or send back. It looks as though it was from the nature of the stone itself not as an oversite.
I really like that it has the rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from sliding around on the counter
My daughter wanted this for pie crust. It is wonderful, although extremely heavy and fragile. It would be better if it came with a storage/carrying arrangement. Can't help but wonder whether one could simply buy a marble slab for less money.
