It's a pretty safe bet that your mother - and your grandmother - owned a covered roasting pan like this one. The same U.S. company has been making these black porcelain-on-steel roasters, specked with white flecks, since 1871. This large roaster has a "tree" embossed pattern on the bottom, to partially lift food off the surface. To store the pan, just invert the lid. The Granite Ware roaster is a practical, economical, time-honored choice. No roasting rack included. Not safe for glass/ceramic/induction stoves.

I much prefer this over any of the teflon non-stick stuff.

  • This was a gift for a young mother who used plastic bags to make holiday turkey. Her husband is so happy that I taught her how to use the old-fashioned enamel roasting pan. We had Christmas dinner together and the turkey was moist and browned the old fashioned way. I looked in every store I knew of to find an enamel pan. Cooking.com was the one place with a reasonable price. Thank you Cooking.com.

  • The only tool that does the job!

There is nothing like a good old fashioned black enamel roasting pan for making a delicious, tender brisket. It does the job right every single time. No other pan can do the job right!

I love these graniteware roasters. Consistently the turkey turns out perfectly, and I make the gravey directly in the roaster on the stove top. Nothing else gives such consistently good results!

  • The Real Deal !!!

I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to replace my 20+ year old roaster after it finally wore out, luckily I found this website and was able to replace the old with the new! In all honesty this roaster is probably better than the old one, love the depth and is perfect size for large turkeys, prime ribs, and two roast!! Love Love Love It :)

  • Granite Ware Roaster

The Roaster was very nice and made in the USA as advertised. Our only problem was that is was not big enough for our use and we returned it. We are still awaiting our refund to our Credit Card. Would be really nice if you offered free shipping or at least free shipping on Returns.

  • Pleased with quality of product and did a great job cooking my turkey. I did a 16 lbs turkey and I wished I would have bought the bigger one so that I could fit my V-rack in the roaster. But other than that, great product.

No matter is it's homemade macaroni & cheese for the families or the turket dinner it fits in this pan. It''s good & sturdy for carrying anything without any worries. Great all around pan. In fact I have had one for years & my son-in-law loved the size of it so I bought this one for him.

  • Roaster

If you want to bake your Thanksgiving turkey, this is the perfect pan. I had one that was over 40 years old and I loaned it and it never found it's way back home. Was worried I wouldnt find another like it, no need to worry; I found the same pan at a great price.

  • Why I Like the Roaster Pan!

We shopped everywhere to find the same size roaster pan my mom has had for 30 years! Finally someone suggested we go online to see if we can find the same one, only new! Lo and behold, we found one the same size my mom has AND it will be big enough to roast a large turkey and also to make a large batch of homemade spaghetti sauce!

  • Chips easily

This product was recommended by a cookbook. I still haven't used it, but trust that it'll perform very well and is a great value for the price. The reason why I am giving 4 stars (and not 5) is that the pot came chipped (just from shipping) and I'm sure that may present a problem during use too (in other words, it may chip further). Hoping that the chipping will not affect the cooking and pose a health hazard, I did not return it because I thought it wasn't expensive enough to bother with the shipping.

    I recommend this product.

  • Everything old is new again

I was so delighted to see that Cooking.com had the 19-in. oval roaster with lid. This type of roaster has been used by my family for generations. I have a smaller one that is suitable for 2-3, but now with a growing family we needed a larger one and the one we ordered and received is just what the doctor ordered. Thank you.

  • Granite ware, the best ever roasting pan!

I am absolutely delighted with my new graniteware-roasting pan.
My only regret is that I didn’t buy one earlier. I had to learn how to gauge the cooking time, my first roast beef was over done but very tender, I did not check it as often as I should have because, I didn’t expect the meat to cook so fast on 300 degrees. Second time around, I was prepared; and now, I cook all my food on a lower temp, I add all the vegetables around the meat, remove them when they are tender, continue roasting the meat until done. I am saving energy, a multitude of pots, and enjoying the most tender, juicy meat ever, in “one pot does it all”.
I intend on buying a smaller version of the graniteware -roasting pan, and try it out for a slow, oven-baked rice pudding. Most important to us, (my husband and I), we only tried this pan, because it is made in the U.S. A.

  • shipping

I had to return my original order because the top and bottom had dents from shipping. I paid shipping charges to return the item. I received the replacement and again their is a dent in the bottom. However, I am not going to return the item I will see if the paint continues to come off where the dent is located. I would recommend better shipping containers or the item was dented prior to shipment.

  • Classic roaster still best

Always appreciated my huge rectangular enamel over metal roasting pan, it was starting to wear after 25+ years, finally found this one here. You can't beat the practicality of this set: durable yet lightweight, easy to use and clean; the dark color and enamel retain the heat so items cook faster and moister. Best of all is the naturally slick enamel surface that won't interact with acids in food and is easy to clean, and will never peel off like the toxic "non-stick" cookware that is sold today. The "tree" design in the bottom provides a raised surface for roasts without having to use a rack, and is a nice touch of last-century whimsy. The best turkeys come from these roasters. Fantastic value, and nice to see it's made in the USA, too.

    I recommend this product.
