Great bang for the buck

With the size of this pan it is useful for just about anything you can cook for a small crowd. I have used it in place of a stock pot cooking mashed potatoes, boiling corn on the cob, with a steamer to make asparagus, for risottos and other rice, for oatmeal. When cooking for a smaller crowd this pan is perfect.

The shape gives more surface area allowing your foods to heat faster, the full clad construction gives even, consistent heat and reaches that heat fairly quickly while the thickness of the pan allows it to hold heat when adding cold ingredients.

Overall an excellent pan, makes cooking a breeze. The most noticeable difference between this and my old sauce pan however is the clean-up. No matter how burnt on whatever I was cooking was, 1 pass with a sponge usually took it off, no scrubbing, no soaking. I would buy this pan again for this reason alone, cut down on cleaning times by a good 5 minutes.

Good size

Finally a good sized pan for cooking rice. The regular 2 quart was too small for the amount of rice I usually cook so boil overs occurred. This 2.5 quart remedies that! Thank you Calphalon for a perfect sized pan!

Love this pan. We eat a lot of hot cereals and it was so easy to clean up. Even after extra oatmeal had set in it all day. Sauces slid right out.

Great Sauce Pan

Great size & very sturdy. It has very even heat distibution & clean up is super easy. The only reason I gave the product 4 stars is due to the lid. It can get very hot so prepare to have your oven mittens out.

Great size for small family

I bought one of these earlier this year and found that it is perfect for cooking 2 to 3 ears of corn on the cob. I decided I had to have another one for our beach house.

Calphalon Shallow Sauce Pan

I have not purchased a Calphalon pan,pot that I didn't like. The 2.5 qt. Shallow Sauce Pan is well built and performes well. I am replacing all of my cheaper pots and pans with Calphalon a little at a time.

Great pan for everything!

I love the wider style of this saucepan. My smaller pans, 1.5qt, are more narrow and don't heat as well on my gas stove. I use this for everything from cooking rice to using it as a saute and soup pan. There's just two of us so the size is perfect for a small pot of soup or a stirfry. The no-stick is awesome!

This product is so easy to clean and cook with. I'm very happy with it and intend to buy more.

New Calphalon User

I was just recently introduced to Calphalon by a friend. She raved about this cookware. I needed a large piece of cookware for making soups and stews. I found a 5qt piece of Calphalon on sale and purchased it. Well, I could not have spent that money better. I absolutely love this product. It cooks amazingly even and the clean up if you want to call it that is almost non-existent. You just wipe it out with soap and water. I am now in the process of purchasing an entire collection.

a Christmas present

I bought this for my daughter for a Christmas present so she hasn't got this one yet. But she does have others . I plan on purchasing some of the cook ware after Christmas for my self. I, m impressed!

Fabulous purchase

I love this pot. I read all the reviews of 2 different pots but ws convinced by the one who said they make lots of cereals! this pot replaces one I kept burning (I also went and bought a timer!!)
I'd like to have a saute size pan just like it w/ lid.

Excellent replacement for a chef's pan

I had a Calphalon non-stick chef's pan for many years and it was the one pan I used the most until the non-stick started to peel (caused by someone in my kitchen using sharp utensils). Calphalon no longer produces a non-stick chef's pan so I took a chance on this as a replacement. I'm finding that it works just as well even though it's a bit wider and has less of a curve and I now have a new favorite pan as this is so much more useful for many different dishes, sauces and sautes.

This was an additional pan needed because the Simply Calaphon set does not come w/ a 2.5 or 3 qt sauce pan. I needed three sauce pans. The downside is that it does not match my set and the lid handle gets very hot.

Great pan, great price...!

I like the shallow pan for reduction, as the bigger surface area allows for faster evaporation. That being said, this pan rocks! Heavy bottom, great finish, top quality pan, plus the clear glass lid allows you to keep an eye on what's cooking!

Good addition to my Calphalon collection!

This is a good size for stir fries, veggies and etc. I have a set of Calpholon and like it alot. I would definitely recommend this pan.
