I had a different fat separator that broke and this one, hands down, is so much better.

The oval shape allows for easy use and aids in storage. It is easy to use and clean.

The lid's kind of superfluous

I took a flyer on this item after my last one broke when I put hot gravy into it. Gee, who'da thought THAT would happen???

This one is made of sturdier stuff and works well. It shows no sign of cracking. The lid seems superflous to me. It's okay for straining out monster pieces of dross and skin, but the holes are too big to do a really good job. When I have the Queen for dinner I strain the gravy in a real strainer. Happily, Her Majesty doesn't show up terribly often so we mostly have lumpy gravy.

Great product.

Had 2 of these in the past and was very happy when I got the opportunity to get another one. This one is still just plastic and will crack when hot liquids are put into it as that is what happened to the last two. Need to make a product that will not crack and leak over the counter when hot liquid is poured into it. Glass maybe?????????????? Something needs to be done as this a great product for getting the fat out of our diet. Thank you.

Great product but inadequate instructions. Novice cooks might not know how to use it efficiently.
