Bring elegance to your breakfast, lunch or dinner table with the Bormioli Rocco Storage Pitcher. Ideal for serving ice-cold and refreshing breakfast beverages like orange juice, apple juice or milk, the glass pitcher is also great for use in the backyard when you want to provide iced tea or lemonade on a warm afternoon. Glass construction means everyone can see what's being poured, which adds to the decorative and festive air of your table. Mix up mouth-watering fruit drinks or sparking beverages by incorporating ingredients such as fresh fruit, ginger ale or club soda and fruit juice. The tropical hues of pink, orange and red will catch the light in this glass pitcher and entice guests to your refreshment table. For a traditional-looking beverage, toss a few slices of lemon into your lemonade. Delight children or grandchildren when you mix a large pitcher of rich chocolate milk for breakfast or snack. Designed to store beverages in your refrigerator, the pitcher features an efficient rectangular shape, which takes up less room on a fridge shelf than a round picture would. The tight-fitting plastic lid keeps particles out of the pitcher and helps reduce the chance of splashing or spills when you move the container. The 2-liter capacity ensures everyone can wet their whistles before the pitcher is carried into the kitchen for refills or cleanup. Cleaning is a breeze because you can place the pitcher in the dishwasher.

Any beverage that you want to serve ice cold, including juice, iced tea, lemonade, sparkling fruit beverages, milk and homemade soft drinks.

What I wanted seemed so simple: a glass juice pitcher with a lid that closed tight enough for me to swirl my orange juice around in the morning to re-mix the settled pulp, and with some stylishness. I must have looked at hundreds via the net. This is the one I chose and I'm happy with it. The square shape is very space-efficient in the fridge and the lid seals pretty tight. It looks rather elegant (though the plastic lid looks somewhat less so than the glass body of the pitcher, which is quite nice). I liked it enough that when I'd bought one and decided I liked it, I went back and bought two more.
I purchased the 2.25 Quart Glass Pitcher by Bormioli Rocco mainly because I no longer wish to use plastic containers for both taste and possible health benefits. Occasionally, after a liquid is in a plastic container I can taste the plastic. If I can taste the plastic then I'm ingesting the plastic which can't be good. Pros: 1) Pitcher made out of glass, Not Plastic 2) Short in height 3) Very Stable (will not accidentally tip over) 3) Reasonable price
Cons: 1) The handle is not well designed. The handle is made for smaller hands (I have medium size hands and the handle is not very comfortable.) The gap between the handle and the pitcher should be made larger. Also, the handle should be attached at the bottom in addition to the top for added strength.
2) The lid is not secure (does not fit tightly) and is made of plastic. However, the lid will rarely make contact with the liquid, especially if the lid is removed while pouring.
3) Glass is not tempered. Therefore do not fill with boiling hot water to make ice tea.
4) The design of the spout is adequate, but could be easily improved by having slightly larger spout.
My only reservation about this pitcher is the limited amount of space between the handle and the body of the pitcher. The picture is a little deceptive. My hands are not real big, but I can only put my fingers around the handle up to the second knuckle. This is awakard and will take some getting use to. It is compact, twisting the inner part of the top gives an airtight seal and I can get my hand inside the pitcher which makes for easy cleaning. Overall, a good buy.
It is kind of small for the amount of tea my family drinks but I am buying a second one. The product is that good. I love this brand of glassware. I love that it is airtight. The pitcher handle is not as awkward as other reviewers have stated. It fits straight in my fridge door and is short enough to fit on the top shelf.
Love this picture to keep my ice tea cold or my milk fresh. Only wish it wasn't quite as heavy as my hands are not very strong but it is as advertised air tight. Just hold the outside of the lid steady and turn the inside of the lid. The outside must be held or it will just spend. LOVE IT thank you Cooking.com for the great price.
this would be a great product but the lid is a bit difficult to seal. With a few tries I learned how it works. Also, the arrows pointing the direction to open/close are not really visible. If you don't look very closely, you'll never know it's there.
This is a nice study glass pitcher and I like the lid. I use it to brew ice tea and I can put it in the microwave to boil the water. The only drawback is that it is quite heavy when it's full. Also, the photo makes it look more rectangular (taller and narrower) in shape, but it is short and more square, so it takes up more room on the refrig shelf.
The pitchers looked twice as tall in the photo as they actually are. If I had seen these in the store, I would not have purchased them. As it stands now, it is too expensive and too much of a hassle to return them and try to find what I was really looking for. I'll use them because I have to, but I'll always feel that the money could have been better spent.
I wanted compact pitchers to serve tea and lemonade during parties, without overloading my fridge. When they arrived, I was concerned they would be too small to hold sufficient volume for a party. After testing, I am pleased...they will hold liquid for 8 - 16 oz glasses with ice (3/4 full of liquid, topped off with ice), or ~5 - 20 oz glasses with ice. That's sufficient for a small to med dinner party.
Pros: They are short enough to fit on a mid-height shelf in your refrigerator. They are narrow enough to fit 3-deep and still have room on the shelf for other items (and for easy storage between uses). They have a sealing cap that you can turn to achieve a tight seal when needed.
Cons: They are glass. You cannot pour with the cap on, and the cap screws apart easily if over-tightened.
Suggestions for the next design upgrade: A cooling water tube that can be frozen to keep drinks cold without diluting. Drop-proof plastic. A filter cap, so that garnishes stay in the pitcher, while liquid strains through.
Overall, I am pleased, and will keep them, but gave 4 stars because of the cons listed above.
