What I wanted seemed so simple: a glass juice
pitcher with a lid that closed tight enough for me
to swirl my orange juice around in the morning
to re-mix the settled pulp, and with some stylishness.
I must have looked at hundreds via the net. This is
the one I chose and I'm happy with it. The square
shape is very space-efficient in the fridge and
the lid seals pretty tight. It looks rather elegant
(though the plastic lid looks somewhat less so
than the glass body of the pitcher, which is quite
nice). I liked it enough that when I'd bought one and
decided I liked it, I went back and bought two more.
I purchased the 2.25 Quart Glass Pitcher by Bormioli Rocco mainly because I no longer wish to use plastic containers for both taste and possible health benefits. Occasionally, after a liquid is in a plastic container I can taste the plastic. If I can taste the plastic then I'm ingesting the plastic which can't be good.
1) Pitcher made out of glass, Not Plastic
2) Short in height
3) Very Stable (will not accidentally tip over)
3) Reasonable price
1) The handle is not well designed. The handle is made for smaller hands (I have medium size hands and the handle is not very comfortable.) The gap between the handle and the pitcher should be made larger. Also, the handle should be attached at the bottom in addition to the top for added strength.
2) The lid is not secure (does not fit tightly) and is made of plastic. However, the lid will rarely make contact with the liquid, especially if the lid is removed while pouring.
3) Glass is not tempered. Therefore do not fill with boiling hot water to make ice tea.
4) The design of the spout is adequate, but could be easily improved by having slightly larger spout.
My only reservation about this pitcher is the limited amount of space between the handle and the body of the pitcher. The picture is a little deceptive. My hands are not real big, but I can only put my fingers around the handle up to the second knuckle. This is awakard and will take some getting use to. It is compact, twisting the inner part of the top gives an airtight seal and I can get my hand inside the pitcher which makes for easy cleaning. Overall, a good buy.

I wanted to change to glass pitchers. But when I got this product I found the handle is so close to the body of the jar that it is difficult to hold. If the handle were out a little further, the product would be a good choice. As it is, it is hard to get ones hand around the handle so one can lift the jar.
I love my new pitchers. I don’t like using plastic for storing or cooking and had been looking for a covered glass pitcher for some time.
This pitcher looks good on the table and seals tight for storage in the refrigerator. It is better than anything I expect to find!!
This pitcher is made of sturdy, thick glass, shaped great for fitting in the fridge, and has a great sealable lid. The handle is perfect for me, I find that a full pitcher is easier to carry because the handle is closer to the center of weight--less strain on my wrist. Great design for my needs. Couldn't be happier with it.
This is the optimal pitcher for making home made lemonade or other juices. The lid has a robber seal and by turning it clock wise it closes the pitcher tight and keeps the liquids fresh. The handle is comfortable. I'm very satisfy with this product
Love the design. Previous reviewers are absolutely correct about the handle. Fine for me and my children, not so fine for my husband. I'm a bit baffled by how the lid is supposed to open and close, but seems to pour nicely. Perfect size to fit in the door of my fridge. Overall, very nice for the price.
We like this pitcher so far - we keep it on our counter and filter our water into it using the insert from our old Brita pitcher. It's a good solution until Brita introduces a glass filter pitcher in the US. After that we'll probably use it for juice.
I love this pitcher. It is the perfect size for my needs (iced tea) and best of all it fits on my refrigerator door! I saw other reviewers felt the handle was too close to the pitcher - I feel it gives it stability when you lift and pour. Plus, I have large fingers and find no problem using it. Also feel it is a good value for the price. And it is very sturdy and strong.
The pitcher is a decent glass pitcher, but does have some drawbacks.
The pluses: The lid seals nicely and I can shake the milk with no leakage. The shape fits nicely in the fridge and it has a large capacity. The glass and lid are easy to clean. The sealing o-ring comes off easily to be washed and the lid has fared well in the top shelf of the dishwasher.
The cons: It's definitely not the highest quality glass (one has a hairline flaw in the handle, which looks like it possibly may be a crack - hopefully it won't get worse). It's pretty heavy and I find it to be a bit awkward to pour with the fat squatty shape. The pour spout does "drool" down the side when pouring thick liquids, such as whole goat milk (which is what I purchased it for). I had graduated to this because I didn't like the drool when using mason jars. Unfortunately the pour spout didn't fix that problem, but doesn't seem to drool with thinner liquids like apple juice or water - only viscous liquids that cling to the glass.
Overall, I'd say it's a fine pitcher for the price, especially since there isn't anything else out there on the market like it that I can find at the moment, but it's nothing stellar.
I ordered 2. One was broken but replaced . I love these pitchers! They replaced the old glass milk jars i had and they were so hard to clean. I hope they keep making this product in the future. The only thing about it- is the handle, for bigger hands its a little tight fitting.
I had been using glass 1/2 gallon jugs to make tea. I bought two of these and they are so much easier to use and wash. The only problem is the tight fit between the handle and the jug. This isn't a problem for me, but my husband has mentioned it. I had seen it as a con in reviews before I bought it. We have had no problems with the top. It works just fine.
I had searched for a glass pitcher and I am more than happy w/ these-so happy that after I had ordered 2 I ordered 2 more. I have had absolutely no problems with the lids-if you follow the directions they seal tight and do not leak. I would buy more of these if I ever needed more pitchers.
This is the best juice pitcher I could currently find. It appears there is some confusion as to how the lid works - while the cap is on the pitcher, you must turn the inside of the cap in a clockwise motion to make it seal. I'm sure the design of the handle is for strength and durability, but I think by only allowing your fingers around the handle also keeps your palm closer to the pitcher and gives you more control while navigating in and out of your refrigerator.
Now that my family is past the need to have plastic tumblers with sippy lids, we are switching all of our kitchen products to glass. Not only is this pitcher the perfect size, it doesn't leave any after taste in my beverage. The only disadvantage is the handle leaves little room for a larger hand but, we haven't had any incidents as of yet.
Wonderful size glass pitcher. It fits well on shelves in the refrigerator. It took a couple of trys to get the lid to seal properly, but it works well with the proper technique. The space between the handle and the pitcher is a little tight, but it is easy to get used to. Overall very nice pitcher.
