What I wanted seemed so simple: a glass juice
pitcher with a lid that closed tight enough for me
to swirl my orange juice around in the morning
to re-mix the settled pulp, and with some stylishness.
I must have looked at hundreds via the net. This is
the one I chose and I'm happy with it. The square
shape is very space-efficient in the fridge and
the lid seals pretty tight. It looks rather elegant
(though the plastic lid looks somewhat less so
than the glass body of the pitcher, which is quite
nice). I liked it enough that when I'd bought one and
decided I liked it, I went back and bought two more.
I purchased the 2.25 Quart Glass Pitcher by Bormioli Rocco mainly because I no longer wish to use plastic containers for both taste and possible health benefits. Occasionally, after a liquid is in a plastic container I can taste the plastic. If I can taste the plastic then I'm ingesting the plastic which can't be good.
1) Pitcher made out of glass, Not Plastic
2) Short in height
3) Very Stable (will not accidentally tip over)
3) Reasonable price
1) The handle is not well designed. The handle is made for smaller hands (I have medium size hands and the handle is not very comfortable.) The gap between the handle and the pitcher should be made larger. Also, the handle should be attached at the bottom in addition to the top for added strength.
2) The lid is not secure (does not fit tightly) and is made of plastic. However, the lid will rarely make contact with the liquid, especially if the lid is removed while pouring.
3) Glass is not tempered. Therefore do not fill with boiling hot water to make ice tea.
4) The design of the spout is adequate, but could be easily improved by having slightly larger spout.
My only reservation about this pitcher is the limited amount of space between the handle and the body of the pitcher. The picture is a little deceptive. My hands are not real big, but I can only put my fingers around the handle up to the second knuckle. This is awakard and will take some getting use to. It is compact, twisting the inner part of the top gives an airtight seal and I can get my hand inside the pitcher which makes for easy cleaning. Overall, a good buy.

I bought this glass pitcher and a smaller one too, I am using both a lot and I'm happy I bought them. I am having a little trouble with the lock/unlock feature , the small one does not have this issue, but the 2.25qt one does. I'm not sure if it's only that I got a deffective one, but I learned to use it as is and still love it, it's handy and great size, I make fruit juices and store them in the fridge, I feel comfortable having them in a glass container. I do recommend it!
This heavy glass pitcher fits my refrigerator door. The handle placement makes it difficult to remove the pitcher unless the pitcher is placed so that the handle is over the shelf rather than facing the user.
The only problem that we have with the pitcher is the lid is difficult to operate. The plastic mechanism doesn't always get tight enough to hold the lid in place despite following the directions.
I MISTAKENLY THOUGHT I COULD POUR BOILING WATER INTO THE PITCHER. WELL IT BROKE. YOUR SERVICE DEPARTMENT GENEROUSLY OFFERED TO SEND ME A REPLACEMENT AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
THE PITCHER IS PERFECT FOR MY NEEDS ( as long as I don't pour boiling water into it )
This is a great glass bottle to use in the fridge when storing filtered water. Good size and shape. The lid on this doesn't seal as tightly as the smaller, taller bottle, but still great value and product.
It is so difficult to find good glass storage containers to replace plastic ones. The very rigid nature of glass makes sealing the container much more difficult than plastic. The gasket on the lid of this product does a pretty good job. Although the seal is not perfect, and the cold temperature of the refrigerator will loosen the seal somewhat, I was very happy to find this alternative to my plastic containers.
This glass pitcher is a fantastic product to replace the plastic in your home. The glass is thick and strong. I have read many reviews about the lid not sealing. The packaging states it is hermetic (air tight) - but it is not. It is almost air tight, but if you turn it upside down, liquid will dribble out by the
I wanted a glass pitcher for ice tea because of the recent safety issues regarding chemicals given off by plastics. This fits the bill and is well made. I only wish it was a little bigger. Even though it is 10 cups, I can only fit about 9 cups with the lid on and I easily go through that in 2 days. Also, you must take the lid off to pour but I quickly go used to that and it comes off quickly. Thanks to the other reviewers who explained how to tighten the lid.
I decided to start buying milk in a bag from Kwik Trip because it only costs $1.49 for a half gallon and it tastes good. This jug is the perfect container to use for bag milk. My only real complaint would be that the handle is positioned a little close the body of the jug. This cuases a little bit of a squeeze on your fingers when you pick it up. Also, I've noticed a little bit of milk drips down the spout after pouring. Both of these issues are very minor. This is a very well made jug. The glass is nicely finished and the lid works great. I should also add that it fits nice in the fridge door and looks great. I can even leave the milk on the counter between cups of coffee now. The jug keeps the milk ice cold between cups. Great container. I should also mention that this item is very sturdy and quite heavy. The money I'm saving by buying bag milk will pay for my jug in just a short while.
