This is my third Bread Machine and it is the best of 3 different brand names. I make all my breads and love making that special bread you can't buy in a store. To wake up with the smell of hot bread baking and coffee brewing will make you enjoy getting up in the morning.
This is not the most beautiful appliance you'll ever own, kind of a retro look, but you'll love the bread it puts out. We have had a bread machine for ten years, but when this machine made a loaf we ate the whole thing in one mass munch-out. The insides were moist, but not too moist. The outsides were chewy and just crisp enough. The mixing paddle had been removed so there wasn't the big hole in the bottom of the loaf. And, another good thing, the pan is immersible. All in all a pleasure to use and fairly easy to operate.
This is my 4th bread machine and is the best! I've made 4 loaves so far and all 4 have come out perfect! I've also made pizza crust and it was a big hit with our guests. There's so many options to choose to get your bread exactly the way you like it. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good bread machine!
This is the quietest bread machine I have had and it doesn't bouce around. I usually make my bread to the dough stage then shape it in small loves for two. I've tried pulling it out at the time you remove the paddle and the dough cycle, both worked. I just wish it had a cycle for sourdough bread. A any bread you make you have to adjust for your location and humidity, so check it at the beginning and look of the dough then enjoy when done.
The day I received the bread maker, I made gluten-free bread. Wow! Wonderful bread - the best I've had in the 7 years I've been gluten-free. Not too dense, great texture, holds together well, excellent flavor.
It makes wonderful bread and is very easy to run. It took 3 loaves for me to get through the learning curve, but all 3 loaves were still excellent. My only negative is that it has some noticeable sound as it mixes and kneads, but I can live with it. I was having trouble getting the baked loaf out. The instructions simply say to shake the pan till the loaf falls out. I finally realized that when I turn the pan over to empty it, if I turn the piece of metal that turns the paddle, the bread will release, and will fall out with little if any effort. I will be trying all sorts of breads and I sure am enjoying it. I read some complaints about the signal beeps. These don't bother me since I make my bread in the morning and not overnight.
I had exactly the same model purchased about 8+ years ago. It was used 1 to 3 times a week and worked beautifully. I finally died, and was replaced by current one. I've used other machines, and this one is the best!
I have only had one opportunity to make a loaf of whole wheat bread. While the machine was working it was very noisy. Plus the bread turned out as hard as a rock. So I am going to try white bread this time. But not very impressed at the moment.
Bread maker comes with an excellent operations guide and many good recipes that are simple to follow. Our first loaf was more like a brick; then we discovered the barometer was extremely low. We tried it again when the barometer was high, and the loaf was perfect. So beware of weather conditions. We like the feature that allows us to remove the paddle before the baking cycle comes on. Handle the lump of dough carefully, though, when you roll it aside to remove the paddle, because if you "injure" it, there's not much rising time left for it to fix dents and furrows. What you see is likely what you'll get.
Loved the look of this machine as it matches our other kitchen appliances. It has a larger footprint than I thought it would but since we use the bread machine at leat 3 times a week the counter space is being used efficiently. Quieter than our last machine and we hope to have this one for just as long (10 years)!
I have been very disappointed in this product and am seriosly considering returning it. It mixes and bakes bread fine on the smallest loaf setting but at the larger settings it goes "off track" and I have to pause the machine and snap the loaf pan back in its cradle. I mainly bought this for the delay time feature which is now useless to me because I can't leave the machine alone because I am constantly having to fix it. So much for having a fresh loaf of bread when I get home from work!
The machine arrived broken. I had an awful time getting it replaced. Finally had to get into contact with Cuisnart to get it replaced. Once I finally got a replacement and one that works, it does work fine. The one thing that I would do to improve on this is to be able to make a loaf of bread that was a bit larger, so that you could get more servings out of it.
I could not wait to get my bread maker so that my home could smell just like the smells I remember as a child. I have 5 boys ranging from age 24 down to 5 years old and when they all came home for our traditional Sunday gathering they all commented on how good the house smelled. When they all said that I just melted because I had accomplished what I had set out to do. Now my boys will always remember the smells of home and when they go somewhere and smell fresh bread baking they will always remember home.
I've never used a bread maker before and after reading other's reviews, decided to purchase this model. I have been very pleased. I've tried at least 8 of the recipes in the book included. All have been very good with the exception of Country French Loaf with Olives and Rosemary. I've tried twice, it has good flavor, but an odd texture. I've already recommended this appliance to friends.
My daughter is sensitive to gluten so I have been baking her breads. I bought this machine because some of the reviewers claimed it was good for gluten free baking. They were right! The bread comes out beautiful! It also worke great for bread for the rest of the family. Some of the reviews that I read say that the crust comes out too dark. We have found that the crust does come out darker than it did with our old bread machine but we like it. I would recommend setting the machine to a light setting if you don't like a deeper crust. The inside of the loaf is always soft and moist. I am very happy with my purchase.
