In Solingen, Germany, each piece is hand-forged in 38 manufacturing steps by skilled craftsmen. The high-carbon stainless steel blades are hardened to maintain a sharp edge and full tangs provide perfect balance with riveted, high-impact composition handles.
Wusthof's newest state of the art technology incorporates a new computer controlled method for putting the edge on Classic knives. This technology allows for an exacting edge from the tip of the knife down to the heel of the knife. With this newer precision, the knives are made sharper to 14 degrees per side for a total of 28 degrees. The knives are now sharper and this refinement increases the sharpness retention because exacting angles and edges last longer than edges sharpened by hand. The result is a knife that is 30% sharper and the ICP (Initial Cutting Performance) lasts twice as long.

This is a good starter set because you get one knife for big jobs and one for small jobs. These are the two of the first good knives I ever bought. They have been great for my wrist. I used to get tired from chopping a lot of vegetables for a stew, but not with this chef's knife. And the paring knife handles everthing I need when I'm only cooking for one.

A fantastic pair of knives! Don't be fooled by thinking that paying a lot for a knife is a bad idea. These knives will last you forever as long as you treat them well. Incredibly sharp and highly durable.

I bought this for our 24 year old son who needed a stater set. He is very happy with these knives. Wusthof makes great knives, I have several and LOVE them.

I think it is extremely sharp and satisfy to cut, however it is slightly heavy for small women to use easily.

Just having the proper knives has made me a much better cook. These were recommended by an executive chef friend of mine and I am so glad I took her advice and spent a little extra money.

Very nice knife set. Very sharp and excellent cutting set. There are fancier knives out there, but you don't need them. They handle well also.

These are great knives. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the handles could have a more comfortable grip (I only notice this on the Cook's knife).

Good knives. Not sure they are worth the additional cost compared to some of my older knives. Henkel Twin Chef purchased for my daughter is sharper but the lighter weight is not to my liking. Heavier weight and crook at the butt of the handle work better for my aging hands.
