I bought this to replace the 6" utility in my kitchen set that broke while I was using it to get ice cream from a container. I was surprised, thinking the knife was stronger than that. I do like the design with the ergonomic handle and the blade fairing into the handle making cleaning easy.

Yes | No Report Violation »Read reviews and looked at several different brands, found a starter set at a local retailer and decided to give it a try. Was surprised at the comfort, style and function of the knife. Decided to go on line and continue to purchase open stock. Probably would have been cheaper for me to purchase a complete set with block, but didn't want the block. With children didn't want knifes sitting out on my counter. I purchased a seperate knife holder that can be placed in a drawer, wich that it had been available through Calphalon, but none the less happy with the fit of my new knifes not only in my hand but in the drawer.
