For a savory snack that satisfies your crunch cravings, make chips at home with the Mastrad 2-pc. Top Chips Maker Set. The handy mini-mandoline lets you easily slice potatoes to just the right thickness for delectable chips, and the easy-to-use hand guard ensures the safety of your hands as you work. You can choose the precise thickness of cut you want, opting for thinner chips if you prefer crisp results and thicker chips for a crunchier texture. Once you've got slices prepared, simply place them on the convenient ventilated tray, sprinkle on seasonings such as salt, red pepper, grated parmesan or crushed rosemary, and cook them in the microwave for three to five minutes to get crispy homemade chips you'll be proud to serve to your family. You can also use the set to make chips out of other root vegetables, such as sweet potatoes, carrots and beets, or go the sweet route with apple, pear or mango chips. Because the tray has a silicone nonstick surface, you don't need to use oil or fat, making your chips healthier than traditional store-bought versions. Plus, the pieces are all dishwasher safe, making cleanup simple. The surface measures 10.9 inches square, so there's plenty of room to make enough chips for a quick snack. You can also stack two or three trays on top of each other to get extra cooking surface if you're preparing chips for a crowd.

Features:

  • Adjustable mandoline included
  • Nonstick silicone surface
  • Ventilation holes for two-sided cooking
  • Hand protector for safety when slicing

  • Healthy Microwave Chip Maker

Works as advertised--healthy, no oil chips. Recommend using maximum three trays to minimize cooking time. Eat chips right away as they lose their crunch quickly.

  • easy to use potato chip maker

I saw this product on a TV show and was skeptical that it would produce as advertised but it does work well. The box recommends drying the potato slices and salting after cooking but I don't dry the slices and also lightly salt before cooking with good results. The key is knowing the size and power of your microwave. When using sweet potatoes, I cook for less time and watch them carefully. I have been pleased with the crispness of the chips and the thin slices but you might want to experiment with the slice sizes. And no oil needed!

    I recommend this product.

  • how to make your own low cal chipss

It is a pleasure to try this product with different vegetables. I tried turnips but they were too bitter. the sweet potaotes are great. Now I will try white potatoes. haven't had time to do all of the items I want to yet.
I put them in the regular oven to crisp them after the micro.

    I recommend this product.

  • The first tray full of potatoes worked great. They were crisp and tasty. It was hard to get the salt to stick to them though. The second tray full were a little soggy. I had noticed the inside of the microwave had condensation on it after the first tray full and didn't wipe it out before the second tray. I am wondering if that was why they were soggy. It didn't say anything about that in the instructions. I would be interessted in getting another tray or two, so I could cook more at one time.

  • Surprisingly Crispy Chips

This is the best tool. The chips came out very crispy and in my opinion were better than store bought baked chips. I sprayed a very light layer of pam over them when I took them out of the microwave so the season would stick. Excellent!! It says you can use 3 trays at once in the microwave which would be great since you only get about a dozen chips every 3 minutes.

    I recommend this product.

  • crispy chips from a microwave

I was really pleasantly surprised that the chips were so tasty. They came out of the microwave crispy and yummy. So far I have only tried yukon gold potatoes and sweet potatoes, but I plan to try some of the other suggestions. If you are on a limited calorie diet, you can make just enough to satisfy that craving.

    I recommend this product.

  • Homemade potato chips are GREAT!!!!!!!!!

My son was recently put on a low-sodium diet and he loves his potato chips. I got one of these to make him saltless chips. They taste just like regular potato chips just without the salt and oil. I recomond you are at least get of 2 these (though you can use 3 at a time),if you're making them for more than 1 person. I ended up buying 2 more sets, so I could cook enough at one time for us both to eat.

    I recommend this product.

  • Great Chip Cooker, Poor Slicer

The slicer provided lacks the quality to provide consistent slices. However, I have a good slicer and when I followed the instructions, the chips came out fine. I did increase the cooking times.

  • This worked as advertised. I will order the additional 2 trays so that I can make more at a time. The chips are crispy - I placed them in a plastic container with lid and days later are still just as crisp. With the tray loaded, I had to cook 15 seconds longer than the 3 minuets suggested. With fewer the time was less than 3 minuets. I used white potatoes.

    I recommend this product.

I thought the chip maker was over priced. I used the product and like it. It was easy to use and cleaned up easily. I found that the time given in the directions was not accurate.

  • Top Chips Maker Set

The slicer is very small in size so can only use small potatoes. It does slice very well. The chip maker is also quite small. To get the chips crisp, need to dry potatoes and let stand a while before cooking.

  • Chips Maker

This (and maybe other) chip maker is small and would take hours to make more than a small bowl of chips. The flavor is fine, but it is time consuming. I'd think twice about purchasing one again.

  • Product instructions

You should caution purchasers that only a small quantity of chips (in our case, sweet potatoes) should be made at one time. Otherwise, whatever is left over gets very limp and soggy.

  • good & healthy

I enjoy the Top Chips Maker even though I've only used on potatoes so far. I was able to make very tasty chips w/o all the grease and mess you get when you have to fry them. It turned out that I sliced them directly into a bowl of water and rinsed them, to get some starch off. Then let them soak in a bowl of salt water for an hour. They turned out great. I can't wait to use them on fruit or especially the sweet potatoes.

    I recommend this product.

  • Surgical steel blade....no kidding!!!

I was interested in this product as Pampered Chef offers a similar product for three times the price. However, the vegetable holder and finger shield did not pierce or hold the vegetable. The plastic was not sharp enough the pierce the vegetable. I can assure you the blade is sharp!! I sliced off part of my thumb with surgical ease. Nasty wound!
I have ordered the Pampered Chef product.

  • Happy chip maker

The chip maker did a pretty good job of making chips. I made both sweet potato chips and regular potato chips. The sweet potato chips were not as crispy as the regular potato chips. The sweet potato chips browned in the center which wasn't very attractive but they all the chips tasted good. The mandolin did a great job at slicing the potatoes very thin but watch out for the blade or you too will have mandolin thumb.

    I recommend this product.
