This product works great. Chips taste good without all the grease and salt.

On the slicer - the food pusher doesn't grip the food well enough. It caused my thumb to come in contact with the very sharp blade.

Microwaving the chips were good but did not come out as crispy as we would have liked, I did an apple.
It was good, but did not have consistency desired.

It works great! I like the slicer that comes with it - it's the only one I have that slices that thinly, but I can tell it's not well made and probably won't be as durable as I would like. I use the Top Chips with jicama - it takes longer, but jicama doesn't have the starch content of potatoes, and it's zero points plus values in weight watchers1

    Disappointed

    by Cathy, FL
    December 12, 2012

I heard a review of this product on 'The Test Kitchen' radio program and ordered three; one for myself and two as gifts. When I tried mine, I found the rubber that the vegetables laid on actually burned in the microwave. The surface is so small that by the time the liquid evaporates, the leftover vegetable is very small, and I could not get them to be crispy. You can stack the rubber pads to cook more vegetables at one time, but that means investing in additional rubber pads. Even so, you would have to microwave at least 10 pads in order to get even a small bowl of vegetables. The slicer was awkward to use and I cut my finger on the slicer. Overall, it was a big disappointment, especially as it was recommended on a radio program that is usually very reliable.

This is the most wonderful product. We like potato chips but must limit our salt and fat intake.

I have a new GE microwave so please do not blame it on that but this chip cooker is horible... either burns them or cooks them unevenly. Total Rip-Off!!

Followed cooking time as required...if any longer potatoes began to burn. Came out crisp however when cooled... Stored -- in plastic zip locked bag and by morning they were soggy. Good if eated right away ,...but does not store well. would not order again or recommend this product

Love the chip maker, but if you're making chips for more than 2 people you should purchase additional trays.

    Chips Maker

    by JUDITH, TX
    February 14, 2012

This (and maybe other) chip maker is small and would take hours to make more than a small bowl of chips. The flavor is fine, but it is time consuming. I'd think twice about purchasing one again.

    Top Chips Maker Set

    by Gail, MA
    February 16, 2012

The slicer is very small in size so can only use small potatoes. It does slice very well. The chip maker is also quite small. To get the chips crisp, need to dry potatoes and let stand a while before cooking.

This worked as advertised. I will order the additional 2 trays so that I can make more at a time. The chips are crispy - I placed them in a plastic container with lid and days later are still just as crisp. With the tray loaded, I had to cook 15 seconds longer than the 3 minuets suggested. With fewer the time was less than 3 minuets. I used white potatoes.

I thought the chip maker was over priced. I used the product and like it. It was easy to use and cleaned up easily. I found that the time given in the directions was not accurate.

    Great Chip Cooker, Poor Slicer

    by Perry, AK
    February 19, 2012

The slicer provided lacks the quality to provide consistent slices. However, I have a good slicer and when I followed the instructions, the chips came out fine. I did increase the cooking times.

    crispy chips from a microwave

    by Karen, PA
    February 27, 2012

I was really pleasantly surprised that the chips were so tasty. They came out of the microwave crispy and yummy. So far I have only tried yukon gold potatoes and sweet potatoes, but I plan to try some of the other suggestions. If you are on a limited calorie diet, you can make just enough to satisfy that craving.

    Homemade potato chips are GREAT!!!!!!!!!

    by Regina, KS
    February 27, 2012

My son was recently put on a low-sodium diet and he loves his potato chips. I got one of these to make him saltless chips. They taste just like regular potato chips just without the salt and oil. I recomond you are at least get of 2 these (though you can use 3 at a time),if you're making them for more than 1 person. I ended up buying 2 more sets, so I could cook enough at one time for us both to eat.

Like the chips but time consuming to make very many. Chips on edge cook better than center ones. Maybe its our microwave.
