Great product but two noted items.
This is a great product to use. Makes chips quickly and naturally, no chemicals needed and you control the sodium content if any. My only issue with the product itself is that I wish the mandolin were slightly wider to actually accomodate larger new potatoes. It sill gets the job done though. My second issue is that I wish I had gone to the product website first to check the pricing. You can get two for the price of one and since they are stackable it would have been a better option. If you aren't interested in two you could always give one as a gift.

The Chips Maker set works well, though getting the best results requires a little experimentation. Microwave ovens vary in power, and mine took an extra minute to fully cook the chips. The little slicer works well, but is a little difficult to hold, and is not adjustable. I have a Bron mandoline, so can make chip slices of varying thickness, and easier, but most cooks probably don't have one. More trials are needed to season the chips after cooking, whether or not to spray with oil, etc. The silicone plate will make only about 12 chips at a time, so producing a good amount is tedious, though more than one can be used. The device should also be sold without the slicer. I bought this to avoid the high fat and salt store-bought chips, and this is does, and eventually will learn to get the best results. Generally a good product.

Works as advertised--healthy, no oil chips. Recommend using maximum three trays to minimize cooking time. Eat chips right away as they lose their crunch quickly.

I saw this product on a TV show and was skeptical that it would produce as advertised but it does work well. The box recommends drying the potato slices and salting after cooking but I don't dry the slices and also lightly salt before cooking with good results. The key is knowing the size and power of your microwave. When using sweet potatoes, I cook for less time and watch them carefully. I have been pleased with the crispness of the chips and the thin slices but you might want to experiment with the slice sizes. And no oil needed!

It is a pleasure to try this product with different vegetables. I tried turnips but they were too bitter. the sweet potaotes are great. Now I will try white potatoes. haven't had time to do all of the items I want to yet.
I put them in the regular oven to crisp them after the micro.
excellent product
This is very easy to use and makes eating potato chips alot healthier. Very inexpensive also. We love it!

This is the best tool. The chips came out very crispy and in my opinion were better than store bought baked chips. I sprayed a very light layer of pam over them when I took them out of the microwave so the season would stick. Excellent!! It says you can use 3 trays at once in the microwave which would be great since you only get about a dozen chips every 3 minutes.

It was hard to get the salt to stick to them though. The second tray full were a little soggy. I had noticed the inside of the microwave had condensation on it after the first tray full and didn't wipe it out before the second tray. I am wondering if that was why they were soggy. It didn't say anything about that in the instructions. I would be interessted in getting another tray or two, so I could cook more at one time.

Great alternative to store bought chips.

I was interested in this product as Pampered Chef offers a similar product for three times the price. However, the vegetable holder and finger shield did not pierce or hold the vegetable. The plastic was not sharp enough the pierce the vegetable. I can assure you the blade is sharp!! I sliced off part of my thumb with surgical ease. Nasty wound!
I have ordered the Pampered Chef product.
Happy chip maker
The chip maker did a pretty good job of making chips. I made both sweet potato chips and regular potato chips. The sweet potato chips were not as crispy as the regular potato chips. The sweet potato chips browned in the center which wasn't very attractive but they all the chips tasted good. The mandolin did a great job at slicing the potatoes very thin but watch out for the blade or you too will have mandolin thumb.

You should caution purchasers that only a small quantity of chips (in our case, sweet potatoes) should be made at one time. Otherwise, whatever is left over gets very limp and soggy.

I used it for the first time and it works fine. Working the slicer is awkward but I think in time I'll get used to it. I sliced up a sweet potato, which worked great. However when I stored them in a zip lock bag, they were no longer crisp. Any suggestions on keeping them crisp in the storing process? Thanks! Vickie Mauro

I enjoy the Top Chips Maker even though I've only used on potatoes so far. I was able to make very tasty chips w/o all the grease and mess you get when you have to fry them. It turned out that I sliced them directly into a bowl of water and rinsed them, to get some starch off. Then let them soak in a bowl of salt water for an hour. They turned out great. I can't wait to use them on fruit or especially the sweet potatoes.

If you have time on your hands this product will work. The slicer worked fine. If i had known that I had to dry the cut taters before nuking them I would not have gotten it. The directions say 3 minutes, however this is grossly underestimated. I have a 1000 watt nuker and it took 4 mins and 30 sec to do only 9-10 slices. If you have a large tater you can yeild 70-80 chips. It will take you 2-3 hours to do just one one big tater so if you have time this is for you NBR
