Quick and easy if you have a KitchenAid Mixer

    by Mark, WA
    July 8, 2010

This gizmo works very well, and for the price it cannot be beat if you have the mixer. One caveat, you must have your freezer set to its coldest temperature while chilling the pot for best results. My first attempt resulted in outstanding vanilla icecream.

    Amazingly fun!

Although the Kitchen Aid accessories seem to be a bit pricey, when you compare the cost of a higher-end ice cream maker, the cost of this ice cream maker attachment, for the quality is supplies, is quite reasonable.

My son made a peach sorbet with it just last night that was out of this world -- and healthy too. Fresh peaches, yogurt and a touch of sugar went into the ice cream maker and out came a sorbet that was delicious and healthy with a wonderful consistency.

You do have to get everything mixed in a separate bowl first and get the mixer running before you pour it in. Once the liquid hits the frozen bowl, it begins to freeze and if the beater isn't moving you will not be able to churn it at all. Other than that, it is very easy to use, produces a fine product in a very short time (20 minutes max so far for us for ice cream, the sorbet took about 10 minutes), and it produces a much larger serving than it might appear to looking at its external size.

    We love it!

I had a cuisinart ice cream machine that worked good but is kind of noisy, this ice cream maker for the kitchaide is much better, the mixer is quite and makes good ice cream.

It did a good job freezing the ice cream, and it is a fun project for my grandkids. With an $80 price tag, It is an expensive project, however.

I replaced a very noisy electric ice cream maker with this attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer, and I love it! I make ice cream once a week from the raw milk and cream from our nearby dairy. This is easy to use, works very quickly, and is easy to clean.

Perfect size freezer for small portions of ice cream for just two of us at home now, without having to break out the larger motor driven cedar bucket-styled one we have for big events!

    This really works!

I was skeptical about a product that claimed to produce ice cream without the rock salt addition to ice, but decided to try it because it is produced by Kitchen Aid and I have great faith in them. It works exactly as stated and makes great creamy ice cream in about 30 mins. I used one of the recipes included and it turned out great. Definetly something you want when your grandkids come around!

    Just Freezing Isn't Good Enough

    by Gabriel, NY
    July 18, 2012

I received my KitchenAid Ice Cream attachment and tried a little experiment. I made 2 batches of ice cream, one using the attachment and another I simply placed in the freezer after the mixture cooled down. Although they both tasted great, the texture of the latter simply did not compare to the one using the attachment! Plus, it didn't freeze as quickly. The attachment does take up space in the freezer and does take a while to freeze completely, but it is well worth it! Simple to attach to the mixer and to clean (by hand). Works wonderfully!

I read the reviews about this product before purchasing it. It is true that it should have some type of handle on it to make it easier to handle. Sounds redundent, doesn't it? I think it's wonderful that you don't need ice or rock salt. Just put it in the freezer. Have only made two batches of ice cream thus far. My computer was down and I needed to look up recipes. The book that comes with it only has 3 recipes in it. That was a bit disappointing. Overall, I am very pleased.

    Tangerine Sorbet

    by Randall, HI
    January 6, 2007

I have five mature tangerine trees in my yard. It's tangerine season and this has been just great to make tangerine sorbet. Easy to use, and well made like all the attachments for a KitchenAid. My juicer is a KitchenAid attachment as well to juice the tangerines.
