Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker

by Alicia, NJ
July 25, 2013

Great item! Very easy to make good ice cream without a big mess. Good recipes with simple ingredients are included. Chocolate ice cream turns out better than store bought!! Easy clean up and freezer container rinses out and can go right back into the freezer for next time. Doesn't take up much room because you can fill the freezer tub with bags of veggies or whatever. Use more cream less milk for strawberry or other fruit ice creams to make them softer after chilling.

great machine, easy to use.

made sorbet for first , and so smooth and tasty. Like recipes that come with it, good selection and can just change up flavor in some for more variety or what flavor you prefer. Good price, nice quality machine, so easy to use. Bought extra freezer container at same time like some reviewers suggested and glad I did. Keep one in the frezer at all time. Been looking for right machine for 2-3 yrs and think I have found it. Great fast service at no extra postage cost. Thank You

I have only used it one time

by Lela, TX
July 16, 2013

I made the vanilla ice cream recipe in the enclosed booklet. Not the one with eggs. It turned out very well. Taste was pure and rich. I added vanilla bean paste to mine. From start to finish, it did not take very long, which is good. There was not alot of excessive noise from the machine. The clean up was easy and simple. My only suggestion to the manufacturer would be to make some sort of lid to place over the opening of the plastic cover. It would be nice to know that dust was not entering the machine at that point, preventing another washing BEFORE I start the next batch.

Too good

by Roger, TX
July 15, 2013

The ice cream freezes too hard in the maker...difficult to remove...shortening the time it runs will probably fix this problem which isn't a problem...after a day in the freezer the newly made ice cream is as good as any I've every purchased commercially. The basic recipes provided were quick and easy and so tasty.

Very satisfied

Very easy to use. If you have ever made ice cream before this is the way to go. If you have never made ice cream before I'll tell you what I found out. You need 4 1/2 cups of dairy ( you can choose how fat you want it to be)If you are making it for yourself you can make it very light. I have put 2 cups of heavy cream and 2 1/2 cups of 1% milk and made ice cream. I like my vanilla ice cream sweet so I took 2 recipes and put them together. I use 2 cups whipping cream, 2 1/2 cups 1% milk, 1 cup + 2 Tbl sugar, 2 Tbl Vanilla, and I use 2 good dashes of salt. You put your sugar in the milk and mix it with your mixer until it dissolves. About 2 min. Then pour in the cream, van, salt, and stir. Don't be afraid of the ice cream maker. Let it mix at least 25 min. I actually started taking some of the ice cream out while it was still mixing at about 25 min and let it keep on mixing and it kept on getting larger so I kept taking more out for several more times before I shut the machine down. Just remember to have a full machine you use 4 1/2 cups of liquid. The machine is a little noisy but not bad. I still watch TV while it's on. Hope this helps someone.

Easy, Convenient

July 2, 2013

I have made two batches of ice cream and find the ice cream maker easy and convenient to use. The noise is much less than I had anticipated given some other reviewers' comments. It doesn't bother me at all.

We bought one because my parents had one. Very easy to use, works real fast. May be a little loud but worth every scoop.

design and function

by chris, IL
June 27, 2013

no where except inside in the directions did it warn consumer the bowl had to be pre frozen rather than having the machine do the freezing. the process has to be started by freezing the bowl a day ahead. the bowl is huge requiring a large space in the freezer. this information should be relayed in your advertising. I wasted double shipping on a product I understood to be self freezing.

ice cream

by Ronald, MI
May 27, 2013

ice cream is good. Wish there were more recipes. A little difficult to clean afterwards. Told to use wet towel to dry. But, it only sticks to the inside. Need to wait until bowl reaches room temp. Makes it difficult if yo wanted to make another batch of ice cream right after the first.

Although I have nothing to compare this item to it does what it claims to do and does it well. I got it for my wife and she says that the ice cream is better than store bought by a long shot.

Wonderful product!

by Leah , KS
February 13, 2013

I'd been wanting to try a product of this type and when it went on sale I ordered it. It's been great--makes enough ice cream to enjoy at once and freeze the rest. In anticipation of serving homemade ice cream to guests I also ordered the an extra bowl. It's not at all noisy and giving up the freezer space was not a problem.

I have not used this item yet. I took it out of the box and it arrived in very good condition. I have put it together to see how it all fit. It seems like an easy item to assemble and use. I plan on using it at Christmas time when my children are all home,(They're in their 20's).

We all scream for Ice Cream!

by Beverly, OH
June 21, 2012

I have made vanilla ice cream and frozen strawberry yogurt so far. Both were done in the time stated - 25-30 min. After placing in freezing containers for several hours then leaving out for the recommended 15, they are quite easy to scoop out. Not quite as creamy as I expected but very good.

I had already given this several times as wedding and Christmas gifts. Finally got one for myself and I couldn't be happier with it. I really like the 2 quart size, just right for 5-6 people. It is a winner!

Quick easy and good

by Michael, MI
June 11, 2012

This is an awesome unit. We've made chocolate, strawberry and vanilla in the first two weeks we've had it. It's so easy to use.
The prep time takes longer than the making time on some recipes but its worth the effort. You may not need all the sugar it calls for either but try it and adjust to your own taste.
I remember cranking on a manual ice cream maker when I was much younger and this has that one beat by a country mile.
