The only thing better than homemade ice cream is quick and easy homemade ice cream! With the Cuisinart 2-qt. Pure Indulgence™ Ice Cream Maker you can make luscious ice cream, sorbet and frozen yogurt at home in as little as 25 minutes. This simple-to-use machine makes up to 2 quarts of your favorite frozen desserts or drinks in one batch. The large ingredient spout allows you to let your imagination run wild: add your own fresh fruit, crumbled cookies, candy, or anything else you can think of to milk, cream, yogurt or fruit juice.
Some of us may recall the old days of home ice cream making: rock salt, ice, mixing by hand, and frequently disappointing, inconsistent results. One look at this sleek, fully automatic dessert maker and you’ll know those days are long gone. Everything happens in one place -- the integrated motor, double-insulated freezer bowl and automatic mixing paddle do all the work. All you need to do is dream up your next delicious frozen recipe. The mixing paddle and freezer bowl are removable, so cleanup is quick and easy and you can get right down to the important business of enjoying your freshly frozen creation.
Best Used For:
Making ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet and frozen drinks.
Why We Love It:
It’s so easy to use, which means we use it all the time! The size is convenient and surprisingly compact considering it can make 2-quart batches. We like knowing that we’re using wholesome, real ingredients -- no weird mystery additives like we’ve seen on the labels of store-bought ice cream. Keep a second freezer bowl on hand so that once the kids have had their custom-made icy treats, adults can use the Pure Indulgence to make frozen margaritas!
Brushed metal housing with embossed logo
Removable mixing paddle and freezer bowl
Instruction/recipe book included
Cleaning & Care: Use warm soapy water, no abrasive cleaners
When you put the freezer bowl in the freezer don't forget to wrap it in a bag to prevent freezer burn. Don't confuse heavy whipping cream with regular whipping cream. The ice cream needs to be frozen for a few hours after you finish churning to get the correct texture. It comes out of the machine fairly soft.
You cannot buy a extra freezer bowl separately yet, but it will be available for purchase soon.
Pros: Able to make small batches of ice cream product in about 25 minutes without getting out the big old fashioned and much loved white mountain churn. Can use own ingredients and decrease the amount of fat and sugar in the product if that is your goal. Open top allows you to add ingredients at different points in the cycle. Cons: It does make some noise, not unbearable, just requires an upping of the volume for conversation, so I just plan accordingly. The freezer bowl takes up space in the freezer (but you knew that) and if you touch the inside of the bowl when it is frozen--beware---that's what it is---frozen! and so will be your finger tip. I keep mine in a large zip top bag in the freezer, to keep crumbs etc. from getting in it. Not sure about the studiness of the plastic dasher, but so far so good. You do have to get the product out of the bowl when you think it is finished, or the edges will freeze hard. Overall: Had it about 6 weeks and love the item, have developed a recipe to use up all sorts of summer fruits.....would buy it again if/when this one breaks or fails.

We all scream for Ice Cream!
I have made vanilla ice cream and frozen strawberry yogurt so far. Both were done in the time stated - 25-30 min. After placing in freezing containers for several hours then leaving out for the recommended 15, they are quite easy to scoop out. Not quite as creamy as I expected but very good.
I had already given this several times as wedding and Christmas gifts. Finally got one for myself and I couldn't be happier with it. I really like the 2 quart size, just right for 5-6 people. It is a winner!
This Cuisinart Ice Cream maker was a birthday gift that we think will be put to immediate use this summer. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition but we haven't used it ... because it is wrapped for giving!
This is an awesome unit. We've made chocolate, strawberry and vanilla in the first two weeks we've had it. It's so easy to use. The prep time takes longer than the making time on some recipes but its worth the effort. You may not need all the sugar it calls for either but try it and adjust to your own taste. I remember cranking on a manual ice cream maker when I was much younger and this has that one beat by a country mile.
Have made several recipes in book, now experimenting with recipes from cook books. Can you recommend an ice cream/frozen cook book. can't fit it in my freezer, have at a friend's house, we are both enjoying it very much. JC Penney has ad for "every day low price $60" cuisinart, but it is a smaller cheaper version. Growing up we had a hand cranking model, this is easy.
We love this machine, have been making ice cream since we received it and the product works great. Only problem is with the recipe book included, if you're gonna make the Strawberry/Peach ice cream, increase the fruit, don't add lemon, vanilla is optional. you don't need all the milk/cream called for. Enjoy!
I love my maker! I used it shortly after receiving it for making sorbet for a jewelry party I was having and everyone loved it! I just wish there were more recipes or help in making variations to the recipes. It was easy to use & clean.
I have always wanted an Ice Maker. When I saw it was a Cuisanart, I jumped at the opportunity to buy it. The Ice Maker didn't perform as advertized. It didn't even make the ice cream Semi frozen. Falsw advertizing!
I originally saw this at my nephew's home and when it took only 25 minutes to make ice cream ( I made it as a teenager and it took hours and alot of mess) I was sold. I purchased it and have made ice cream for my sisters father's 89th birthday and they thought it was delicious I would recommend this to anyone who loves ice cream
Excellent product for making your own summer treats -- or delicious desserts year rouind. We have made vanilla "soft serve" several times a week since purchasing the product. (Making our own means we can use organic cream, and premium vanilla, too.)
It is also excellent for making your own fruit sorbets (like mango) not otherwise available here. This year we have really enjoyed the wonderful fresh raspberries, peaches and sweet cherries grown here in Michigan, as we experimented with turning them into gourmet frozen treats.
The product is in fact "noisy"-no other way to say it. Put it in another room while using and it's fine. Works great and makes great homemade ice cream without the fuss and work. I used a $25 iff cupon and the price was right- I think the listed price is a little high but the quality you get is good.
