The only thing better than homemade ice cream is quick and easy homemade ice cream! With the Cuisinart 2-qt. Pure Indulgence™ Ice Cream Maker you can make luscious ice cream, sorbet and frozen yogurt at home in as little as 25 minutes. This simple-to-use machine makes up to 2 quarts of your favorite frozen desserts or drinks in one batch. The large ingredient spout allows you to let your imagination run wild: add your own fresh fruit, crumbled cookies, candy, or anything else you can think of to milk, cream, yogurt or fruit juice.

Some of us may recall the old days of home ice cream making: rock salt, ice, mixing by hand, and frequently disappointing, inconsistent results. One look at this sleek, fully automatic dessert maker and you’ll know those days are long gone. Everything happens in one place -- the integrated motor, double-insulated freezer bowl and automatic mixing paddle do all the work. All you need to do is dream up your next delicious frozen recipe. The mixing paddle and freezer bowl are removable, so cleanup is quick and easy and you can get right down to the important business of enjoying your freshly frozen creation.

  • Making ice cream with this couldn't be easier

I didn't realize how much 2 qts of ice cream is.

    Here are some tips:

When you put the freezer bowl in the freezer don't forget to wrap it in a bag to prevent freezer burn.
Don't confuse heavy whipping cream with regular whipping cream.
The ice cream needs to be frozen for a few hours after you finish churning to get the correct texture. It comes out of the machine fairly soft.

You cannot buy a extra freezer bowl separately yet, but it will be available for purchase soon.

    I recommend this product.

  • It is a great machine but the problem I have with it is that is a lot noisier than the smaller 1 1/2 quart
The noise is almost too much for the kitchen. I plug it in at another outlet in the house

    I recommend this product.

  • so far so good....

Pros: Able to make small batches of ice cream product in about 25 minutes without getting out the big old fashioned and much loved white mountain churn. Can use own ingredients and decrease the amount of fat and sugar in the product if that is your goal. Open top allows you to add ingredients at different points in the cycle.
Cons: It does make some noise, not unbearable, just requires an upping of the volume for conversation, so I just plan accordingly. The freezer bowl takes up space in the freezer (but you knew that) and if you touch the inside of the bowl when it is frozen--beware---that's what it is---frozen! and so will be your finger tip. I keep mine in a large zip top bag in the freezer, to keep crumbs etc. from getting in it. Not sure about the studiness of the plastic dasher, but so far so good. You do have to get the product out of the bowl when you think it is finished, or the edges will freeze hard.
Overall: Had it about 6 weeks and love the item, have developed a recipe to use up all sorts of summer fruits.....would buy it again if/when this one breaks or fails.

    I recommend this product.

  • Too much freezing and re-freezing

I was hoping for a totally self-contained devise. It appears well made. Essentially the outer shell rotates and the blades remain stationary. I don't understand why it is so important to keep the chamber wrapped to avoid freezer burn. I've used it once to make the ice cream from a recipe that came with the unit. It was okay. If you want real ice cream consistency, you have to: 1. pre-freeze the chamber before using 2. refreeze the ice cream after using. I wish it was all a one stage process.

    I recommend this product.

I love homemade ice cream but don't get it very often. Now I can make just enough for a nice treat and have some to put in the freezer for a future time. The maker is so easy to use. I wish I had bought this years ago.

  • Making life simpler

This Cuisinart Ice Cream/Yogart maker is so-o-o much nicer than the old fashioned hand-cranked or electric ice cream maker. We'll be making homemade ice cream more frequently now. The inventor needs credit for this one.

  • What a machine!!!!

I purchased this machine for myself so that I could make good sugar-free ice cream. My husband and I are both diabetic and so it was very important for me to have the ability to make great ice cream without sugar. I've used this machine at least 2 times a week and just love it. It is so easy to use that even my husband can make ice cream in it!!! I also purchased 2 more of these machines; one for each one of my daughters and they too love them. We are all enjoy the receipe for the plain vanilla and use it as a base for many really neat flavors. I've added 2 teasp. of cocoa to make chocolate and then I added 3 Whyler's raspberry sticks (made to add to water for a refreshing cool drink) and the results is pure heaven! My daughter made the vanilla, added chocolate syrup and ripe bananas and served it with a small bit of crushed pineapple and topped it with a marchino cherry and she said it had all of the flavors of a banana split and they never had to leave the house to go to the ice cream store! You can really be creative using the basic receipes in the booklet that comes with the machine. You will love it!!!

  • Great Ice Cream

The machine makes excellent ice cream. It makes quite a bit a noise when making ice cream but I don't stand there the whole time and watch, so the noise doesn't bother me. The only draw back is that you have to freeze the bowl over night which takes up space in the freezer. Other than that it is an excellent buy for the dollar and doesn't weigh very much, so taking it from the pantry to the kitchen counter is no problem. We can't wait to finish one ice cream to try another one. Excellent!!!!!!!!

    I recommend this product.

  • Don't believe the complaints

We love this maker (even sent one to my mom)! The recipe book is great (the Peanut Butter ice cream with PB cups, Vanilla Frozen Yogurt and Lemon Sorbet were all made with perfect results), and we haven't experienced any problems with consistency. We were a little surprised...with all the reviews saying how loud this machine was, after we turned it on the first time we asked 'that's it??'. NOT loud.
The only issue we have seen is that our machine consistently shuts itself down after 10 mins of use (Instruction Book mentions a built-in safety feature to prevent motor overheating), but we chalk it up to being used overseas on a transformer. While the guide says the maker can be turned back on in 'a couple minutes', ours has usually taken about 10.
Even with that inconvenience, recipes don't get ruined and full process doesn't take too long so we don't mind.
Overall, great purchase that we would make again.
(Even better paired with Ben & Jerry's recipe book!!)

    I recommend this product.

  • My daughter-in-law had made ice cream with this. I immediately ordered one. I love it. It is so easy. With most ice cream makers you have to use ice. You don't with this one. No mistakes. The ice cream is yummy. More reciepes need to be included.

Just made the simple vanilla ice cream. Simple is correct, it was very easy to make. You do need to freeze the ice cream for a few hours if you want any type of firmness.
The simple vanilla was easy and delicious.

  • Gelato and Sorbet for cheap

In the time it takes to eat dinner, soft serve gelato or sorbet or ice cream can be ready! The liners do best when stored in the colder deep freeze, but do a fine job in a regular fridge/freezer. Make ice cream from leftover fruit, some powdered sugar and milk, blended with a simple stick blender--amazingly marvelous, fresh results. And YOU control the contents. I made soy ice "cream" for a nephew with milk allergies and he was in heaven!

What a delightful tool with a small footprint--half the size of a bread machine! A spare liner is a handy purchase if you like to make a couple of flavors back-to-back.

    I recommend this product.

  • Vegan Ice Creams

I'm not vegan, but I'm lactose-intolerant but love delicious ice creams. This ice cream maker was a great investment for me since I know exactly what will go into my dairy-free creamy concoctions from now on. I have tried several unique flavors, so far they have all turned out delicious. The first recipe I tried was avocado ice cream. The flavor turned out terrific (fresh avocado, soymilk, soy creamer, sugar, lime juice, tequila)...can't go wrong there. BUT I was impatient and didn't let my freeze bowl freeze completely through before I started making ice cream...SO the mixture never froze after 45 minutes. No fun. The next time I made ice cream I froze the bowl overnight and chilled the mixture of my mint chip ice cream. This time the mixture became a beautiful, delicious ice cream in 20-30 minutes. I like to put the product in a freezable container for a few hours before I enjoy since I like my ice cream hard. But if you like yours soft-serve style(or just can't resist the ice cream), straight out of the machine is fine, too. I've tried a chocolate stout ice cream and coconut-mango with ginger ice cream, and they were all successes.

    I recommend this product.
