So far, so good.

Have only had this toaster for a few days, but so far it has toasted bread evenly on both sides, nicely toasted a frozen waffle, and done an excellent job toasting a bagel. If it keeps this up, I'll end up loving it!

Nice looking toaster, however bread had to be cut to fit into this toaster and it toasted unevenly so it went back.

Delivery and con-line activity

Having seen a comparative essay on toasters we followed the recommendations of the committee's comparison and ordered the product. It was delivered a few days before the promised date, well packed and in good condition. After using the product for more than a week we are bery pleased with the toaster and would recommend it and perhaps other products mentioned in the tv series.

So far so good!

We literally spent hours reading review after review and have come to the conclusion that if we could make a toaster that toasted bread perfectly we could make a million dollars! This toaster so far as been great. It has a few bells and whistles, not all that are out there, but honestly we bought it to toast bread! And it does toast the bread quite evenly. We've had it about three weeks. It matches our stainless appliances and is not huge sitting out on the counter. One small issue is that the cord is quite short. No more than 18 inches - which sounds long, but it really is not. But, again, we bought it to toast bread well and it does just that. Would recommend!

Best of today's poor crop.

I find it hard to believe that a toaster cannot be made to sell for about $30. that would toast both sides at once. Since that does not seem possible, at least this one does that --- but at twice the cost.

Made in U.S.A.

The Toaster works fine, better than the last one, concidering they are both made in China. Used to burn are fingers on the last one. Calaphon is on My shopping list as long as Calaphon is Made in the States cook ware that is. p.s. My wife does all of the cooking.

Not so happy

Not overly excited with the toaster, it is slow, came with a scratch, and it was impossible to remove all of the sticker residue. Considering the price i was disappointed

Has good looks and does a good job making toast, bagels or anything you want toasted. Sinple controls. Very satisfied with my purchase

Breakroom Toaster

I purchased this toaster for the small breakroom at work. The various settings are a bonus, especially the bagel selection. The employees feedback on the use and maintenance of this toaster have been positive. I would highly recommend this toaster for home use.

OK engineering with poor QC and assembly.

First I was disapointed that it was made in China. Then, when it cycled one time and failed to stay down after that, I was further dismayed. Not wanting to hassle the return process I opened it up to find that it is reasonably designed but poorly made. The plastic latch was molded at low temperature with a rough surface and flashing that was not removed. The operating lever was also bent off center adding to the latch problem. I corrected all this and put it back together and it works OK now. As far as the operation goes, I thought the bagel setting would be good with just one side toasted, but it does not heat the back very much. To get around this I start it on toast and hit the bagel button to finish. If you buy this toaster make sure you are OK with opening it up to fix the issues.

Great looking toaster

I had been looking for a stainless steel toaster for some time. Then I saw this toaster on cooking.com and was surprised that Calphalon made toasters. I'm glad I waited and found this toaster. It works great and looks even better!

Much better toaster then my old $10 toaster

I love the way my toast is quickly and evenly toasted. I like the way my bagel toasted on one side but I don't think the backside was hot enough. I bought a new toaster because my old toaster did not toast evenly and the toast was hard to get out of the toaster without burning my fingers. In that respect my new toaster is a huge improvement over my old one. I wonder if it is 4 or 5 times better then my old one.

Quality

The product seems to be cheaply made. I ordered this on line - so I did not have hands on experience prior to purchase. Had I had that experience I would not have purchased this item. We just purchased the waffle maker which is a far superior made product. It was based on that product that we went ahead and purchased the toaster. If I had not thrown out the box it came in -- I would have returned it. All I can do now is advise my friends of my experience so they can avoid this toaster. Frank

Center heating element

The center heating element seems to run hotter that the outer elements.. Bread is darker on one side.. Result??? I have to watch to make sure the toast doesent burn..

Toaster

Would highly recomend this toaster. Like the features, ie bagel etc. Like the fact that it's small and takes up very little counter space.

After suffering for many years with a dinky cheap toaster, it is a pleasure to have a beautiful, efficient toaster which makes excellent toast. All of my breads are homemade. which can make them more difficult to toast. but the Calphalon does a wonderful job. I especially like the extra-lift feature which makes it easy to remove my smaller French & Italian bread slices. I also appreciate its simplicity and lack of complicated unnecessary electronics.

2 Slice Toaster

This toaster not only looks good, but toasts a variety of types more evenly than any other toaster we have owned in the last 35 years.
