Faux Starbucks iced tea

I was pleased with the tea bags because I can now make at home, the iced tea I always buy at Starbucks for a fraction of the cost.

Great Iced Tea Bags......like Starbucks!

by Michelle, WI
November 26, 2008

These are great tea bags for my iced tea maker. I use 1/3 of the bag per picture of iced tea. It tastes exactly like my black iced tea at Starbucks!

Disappointed

by Charmaine, TX
August 9, 2009

No matter how much water I added...the tea was always cloudy and looked very unappealing. It looked rusty. I threw out all of it after making it 3 times. I buy this when I go to Starbucks all the time but it wasn't at all like Starbucks Tazo tea.

WOW -- Starbucks Black Iced Tea at Home

by Susan, NM
August 10, 2009

Confessions of a Starbucks Iced Tea Addict....black and unsweetened, of course

When Cooking, com sent me an E-Mail about this product -- I purchased a small box from Starbucks (after confirming with them that this is the same product they use). It was WONDERFUL! (Previously, a Starbucks store employee had told me that they use TAZO Awake tea for their iced tea. I tried it, but it was just ordinary tea - NOT the same as they use. I have since found out that the Starbucks Stores only carry TAZO Iced Black Tea Bags in the summer, although they make it all year round. ) After confirming that this tea was exactly what I wanted, I purchased 2 boxes (48 total bags) to save on shipping. I have also saved a lot of money because I am no longer stopping by Starbucks at every opportunity.

Thank goodness I had purchased my first box at Starbucks, and knew what the preferred brewing method was, since this packaging doesn't include instructions or recommendations for brewing. (I no longer use my Iced Tea Maker -- but rather brew it on the stove.) Also, because of other reviews, I knew that the tea bags were just loose, but that is not a problem -- I just put them in a gallon baggie to stay fresh.

Thanks for having this product available.

Not really the best, IMO

by Audrey, TN
August 23, 2009

I read all the reviews of this tea, so obviously I was expecting the tea from heaven. It was okay, at best. Maybe the fault was mine. I did not use traditional tea making methods. I used my Mr. Coffee tea maker, which makes fine tea using just regular tea bags. I will add that I am from the south and have had iced tea since I was a kid, so I can make a pretty good comparison. One of the things that we ask when a restaurant opens around here is: "Do they have good tea?"
To be fair, I will brew this tea the proper way and post again. I certainly have plenty of it!
Oh, the packaging! Atrocious! I don't mind having to use my own zip-lock baggies to store the tea bags, but I almost had to go outside to unpack the cardboard box because there was so much loose tea in the bottom of the box. I know I definitely lost some flavor and freshness from the very poor packaging.

Take the tea bags out of the box & put them back in the bag like the picture represents. The box is not convenient.

This is the most delicious iced tea I have ever had. In my town it is only served at Starbucks and my favorite restaurant. It was worth the price to be able to have it at home whenever I want.

I love the Tazo Black Tea with citrus notes. I just wish someone could tell me what "citrus notes" are. I am really hooked on this tea.

LOVE THIS TEA - BEST ICE TEA EVER! Brews up strong, but is designed to be a concentrate that is diluted 2 or 3 to 1 with water when you actually drink it.

JUST LIKE STARBUCKS -- BUT CHEAPER!

by Charla, CO
March 14, 2008

This is the exact tea that Starbucks USED to use for their black iced tea. Now, (at least here in CO) they use Tazo Awake, but it doesn't have that nice citrus-ey taste. I do wish these teabags were 1/2-gallon rather than 1-gallon. I make it in my teamaker (1/2 gallon) so it's really strong, but I just add cold water each time I make a cup. Wonderful stuff! I drink it every day, year-round.

The best tea i've ever had.

by Kelby, WV
August 2, 2008

This is by-far the best tea I have ever had. After trying Starbucks black iced tea for the first time, I asked the lady working there what they used. For some reason, she told me they used Tazo Awake. So...I bought a box of Awake and quickly found out it was not the same thing. Later on, a friend of mine who now works at Starbucks told me these are what they actually use.

My friend was right. These are the exact tea bags Starbucks uses for their tea. I make mine the same way the baristas at Starbucks does. I bought a $10 iced tea shaker at Borders Bookstores and add 1/3 tea, 1/3 spring water, and 1/3 ice. I sweeten my tea with Splenda and shake it up for 10-15 seconds and it makes it very sweet and

The subtle flavors have set a standard for what tea should taste like. I have now addicted my friends and family on this excellent tea. I am so glad that Cooking.com makes it available in the large size. I cannot recommend it highly enough for either iced or hot tea.
