She absolutely loves the board. I thought it might be too heavy for her since she's in her 70's, but she loves it, and says the weight is no problem. There is no meal now that she does not use the board for in some compacity

Unfortunately was paying attention to the wonderful size of it and never noticed whether or not the weight was posted. Much too heavy for me to use, passed it on to a much stronger person.

Hi:
You can never go wrong with a John Boss cutting board. This board has some weight to it. A little pricey for a cutting board but the size is large 24x18x1.5 and hard to find. Satisfied with price and shipping was prompt.

Great board - no regrets!
10 of 21 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »This 18 X24 Boos board is big, allowing multi-prep operations on one board. While it is heavy, it is manageable to move. I love the size and quality and beauty of the wood. Of course it requires careful clean up, but well worth the effort.

Remember this board is the one you see all the Food Network chefs using...and if you buy it through the Food Network website you'll pay nearly twice what it costs at Cooking.com.

Perfect size. Not too heavy. Reversible, too. One side is only for raw flesh. The other for everything else.
Don't forget to only clean w/ Kosher soap. We also spritz the meat side after use w/ a mixture of 1 tblspn bleach and 1 qt water, to sanitize. The best sanitizer is sunlight. Ours drys out under big kitch window.
Love It!
I am really enjoying my cutting board. It is great to be able to chop several ingredients and put them aside on the cutting board without having to dirty several bowls. I am looking forward to having this cutting board for many years!

I have given the same board to my two daughters and to two other friends when they updated their kitchens. It tucks nicely on top of my microwave oven when it is not in use.

Often my wife and I are cooking at the same time. So I bought 3 cutting boards to cover our needs. The description of the John Boos boards the availability of boards in a large variety of sizes along with having seen one at some one elses house led me to choose this manufacturer. The performance of the board to date is excellent and the groove etched into each end makes handling/moving the board easy. I would recommend this manufacturer's board to any one.

Love the board. Food network is pricey, I could not find this cutting board anywhere else, so I bought it here. Things I could find other places for less, I bought at other sites.

I was looking for a board that would allow for substantial chopping / slicing and cover a large enough area to make it worthwhile. This board does it. Solid construction and weight keeps it in place and there is enough surface area for all my needs. Be forewarned, this is a large board so double check the area where you plan to use it.

This thing is subsantial - make room on you countertop and don't be shocked by the heft of it.
That said, it is beautiful and useful.
"Invest" in some food safe mineral oil (it's $3.95) - keeps the board from drying out. Also think about a bench scrape to move prepped items from board to stovetop since you're not going to be picking this thing up to transfer foos around.
It is such a pleasure to do your prep work on a large board - you can get it all together and not dirty so many little prep bowls in the process.
