This is a truly substantial board, dense and weighty. Its size allows more than one operation to occur simultaneously, which compensates for the counter space that it uses in our kitchen.
Much too heavy for normal use. Unfortunately was paying attention to the wonderful size of it and never noticed whether or not the weight was posted. Much too heavy for me to use, passed it on to a much stronger person.
She absolutely loves the board. I thought it might be too heavy for her since she's in her 70's, but she loves it, and says the weight is no problem. There is no meal now that she does not use the board for in some compacity

This is my second BooS cutting board. Totally pleased with the product. Not so pleased with the shipping, but I live in Hawaii and shipping (with the exception of Amazon) isn't the best. Wonder why Amazon works and others don't?
Boos Blocks have been doing it for years...one of the best out there for serious cooks. I keep mine out all the time...it's actually become my counter top right next to the sink and the stove. Great quality board!
I was looking for a board that would allow for substantial chopping / slicing and cover a large enough area to make it worthwhile. This board does it. Solid construction and weight keeps it in place and there is enough surface area for all my needs. Be forewarned, this is a large board so double check the area where you plan to use it.
You can never go wrong with a John Boss cutting board. This board has some weight to it. A little pricey for a cutting board but the size is large 24x18x1.5 and hard to find. Satisfied with price and shipping was prompt.
This is a beautiful addition to any kitchen. Although it's somewhat heavy, I leave mine on top of my gas cook-top, so I can get to it quickly. Its large size makes it easy to prepare several items and it's a breeze to clean. The more it's used, the better it looks. I highly recommend it!
It certainly is big enuf and sturdy and wood looks to be good quality .... But the price was a shock. I bought it as a gift for a memb er of my family. She loves it because of the roominess and quality but she did not have to pay for it. I can see why it was on her list of wants. I would not have enuf space for it in my kitchen unless I left it flat all the time. It does not fit into a dishwasher but that is a size matter not a quality matter. It will probably last for a very long time so factoring cost over longevity could be a very good thing.
