Every kitchen needs a workhorse saucepan, and the Anolon 3.5-qt. Advanced Nonstick Straining Saucepan is our pick. Holding nearly a gallon of water, it's large enough to cook pasta for the family yet easy to lift and store. The cleverly designed lid features built-in holes that let you drain away liquid by pressing down firmly, saving you the extra step of a colander. The hard-anodized aluminum body heats evenly to cook without scorching food and is less reactive than traditional aluminum, so you can cook a wider range of foods. Inside, the DuPont's Autograph 2 nonstick coating lets you cook with less oil for healthier meals and makes cleanup simple. The Anolon SureGrip handle is made from silicone rubber, so it stays cool and is easier to grip when you're in a rush. Best Used For: Use this versatile saucepan to cook sauces and risottos, boil potatoes and pasta, steam veggies and reheat soups. Because it's oven safe to 400 degrees F, you can sear your foods on the stovetop before finishing the cooking process in the oven. Features:
  • Made of hard-anodized aluminum
  • DuPont's Autograph 2 nonstick coating makes cleanup simple
  • Stay-cool handles are oven safe to 400 degrees F

  • Glad I purchased!

The pouring holes are definitely a great convenience. Also the size of the bottom of the pan is a perfect fit for the top of my ceramic cooktop stove. I needed new cookware but did not want to purchase a set and appreciate that cooking.com offers the option of buying an individual pan, et al.

    I recommend this product.

  • I was one of those unfortunate souls who purchased the TV version of this pot. This is significantly better. Pasta never sticks, even without salt and it cleans up quite easily. Also, because the lid if ventilated, it boils quickly with no spill over

    I recommend this product.

  • Anolon 3.5 -qt Strainer Pan

PRO: 3.5 qt is the excellent size for steaming vegetables when used with an internal collapsable strainer.

PRO: Perferated holes on the lid allow easy straining yet when the lid is rotated retains retains the heat in the pan for cooking.

CON: Rubber handle grip, while very good at retaing the heat of the pan handle, became loose after extended use. Consider an alternate adhesive
    like silicone or flexible epoxy

    Overall rating: 9

    I recommend this product.

  • I am a big fan of Anolon Advanced cookware so I started out with high expectations. We like this pot because it's perfect for spaghetti, or any long pasta, for two. An earlier reviewer mentioned this and it's true.

We've always had a problem finding a pot small enough and deep enough to effectively cook pasta for two but this one works perfectly. It's convenient to be able to drain the pasta without using a collander.

    I recommend this product.

  • The pouring spouts and striner in the lid are so helpful. This pan is a good size, being deep enough to handle most of my needs. Non-stick, of course. good value.

    I recommend this product.

  • This was my first purchase of Anolon which I bought strickly for the draining feature. I was impressed that two sizes of draining holes were provided in the lid. An added bonus that I did not realize was there nor expect was part of the line's manufacture was the stay cool lid and pot handle. At this price, given the almost daily use potential of this product, it makes my most giveable presents list.

    I recommend this product.

  • This pan is well balanced and the soft, cool handles are great. It steams medium quantities of vegetables very well, even though there is no basket insert. I like the tall, narrow profile better than the wide, low one on most pots this size ... easier to fit on the stove and I think conducts the heat better/faster throughout the contents.

    I recommend this product.

  • Looks great and works well. Note that the lid doesn't lock-in while you pour hot water out and, while the product doesn't claim to do that, just be prepared to hold the lid down. It would be easier if there was a helper handle opposite the long one.

    I recommend this product.
