Every kitchen needs a workhorse saucepan, and the Anolon 3.5-qt. Advanced Nonstick Straining Saucepan is our pick. Holding nearly a gallon of water, it's large enough to cook pasta for the family yet easy to lift and store. The cleverly designed lid features built-in holes that let you drain away liquid by pressing down firmly, saving you the extra step of a colander. The hard-anodized aluminum body heats evenly to cook without scorching food and is less reactive than traditional aluminum, so you can cook a wider range of foods. Inside, the DuPont's Autograph 2 nonstick coating lets you cook with less oil for healthier meals and makes cleanup simple. The Anolon SureGrip handle is made from silicone rubber, so it stays cool and is easier to grip when you're in a rush. Best Used For: Use this versatile saucepan to cook sauces and risottos, boil potatoes and pasta, steam veggies and reheat soups. Because it's oven safe to 400 degrees F, you can sear your foods on the stovetop before finishing the cooking process in the oven. Features:
  • Made of hard-anodized aluminum
  • DuPont's Autograph 2 nonstick coating makes cleanup simple

  • Glad I purchased!

The pouring holes are definitely a great convenience. Also the size of the bottom of the pan is a perfect fit for the top of my ceramic cooktop stove. I needed new cookware but did not want to purchase a set and appreciate that cooking.com offers the option of buying an individual pan, et al.

    I recommend this product.

  • I was one of those unfortunate souls who purchased the TV version of this pot. This is significantly better. Pasta never sticks, even without salt and it cleans up quite easily. Also, because the lid if ventilated, it boils quickly with no spill over

    I recommend this product.

  • Anolon 3.5 -qt Strainer Pan

PRO: 3.5 qt is the excellent size for steaming vegetables when used with an internal collapsable strainer.

PRO: Perferated holes on the lid allow easy straining yet when the lid is rotated retains retains the heat in the pan for cooking.

CON: Rubber handle grip, while very good at retaing the heat of the pan handle, became loose after extended use. Consider an alternate adhesive
    like silicone or flexible epoxy

    Overall rating: 9

    I recommend this product.

  • Analon nonstick straining sauce pan, 3.5-qt

I first bought the beige color pan and because it was so good to use, our daughter just took it away from us. We bought this black one as a replacement because I was so fond of using it. The size is just perfect for veggies and pasta, and the straining function is a big plus. The non-stick finish makes cleanup a snap, and the heavy duty aluminum body makes it feel like it'll last a long time.

    I recommend this product.

  • Great Pan

This is my favorite pan and I use it constantly. The 2 I just purchased were for gifts for my daughters. This pan is wonderful in every way....great weight, easy, easy clean-up and distributes heat evenly. Love the straining lid too. Makes it easy to drain off any excess liquid. I can't think of 1 complaint with this product and I have had mine for at least 5 years and it still looks and cooks like new. You can't go wrong with this.

    I recommend this product.

  • Love My Analon

Even though I work outside of my home, I cook three meals every day for my husband and myself. I purchased the basic Analon set 12 years ago and keep adding pieces. I really get my money's worth. We use it every day and love it. This particular piece adds a little more versatility to our collection.

  • great sauce/soup pan

This pan is really great! I like the ergonomics of it - it is deep but not too large, making it easy to stir soups, sauces, etc. without spillage. I also very much like the straining lid that has two different size strainers (one on each side). The pan is not too heavy and easy to lift and has a nice handle that doesn't get hot. This pan is really nice for cooking or stirring with children because the high sides prevent spillage when stirring. And, last of all, the nonstick feature is fabulous! You can make the mac and cheese in it and nothing sticks! Wonderful product. I am so glad I bought it!!!!

    I recommend this product.

The sale price on this item makes it a real deal. I love the strainer and pour spout...it is wonderful for pasta, and I also use it for soups. Great value. If it were dishwasher safe I would give it 5 stars.

  • terrible substitute

We had a coated spaghetti pot with a domed lid in which there were small holes for thin spaghetti on one side & large holes on the other side of the lid for thicker pasta. This top locked to the pot itself & it was very easy to drain the contents. This "new' straining sauce pan doesn't lock and is practically impossible & dangerous to use.

I specifically wanted a straining sauce pan, but I got so much more. This pan is sturdy, has a great look, and I'm sure will last for years. Really great product at a really great price.

  • 3.5 qt. Nonstick Straining Sauce Pan

This pan is awesome. I use it every day...it is perfect to use for all kinds of cooking and straining liquid from the pan is easy. It cooks evenly and the extra size is nice because the pan is deeper than most sauce pans. I recommend this product to any cook.

  • THE BEST DAM COOKWARE

I have used Anolon Cookware the last ten years. The new Straining Sauce Pan is really fantastic, heavier, better constructed, pour from either side which is great for right or left handed users and the handle has a good grip surface. I would like to see more pieces of this product from Cooking .com.

  • Definitely Worth The Chance

Most often, I'm a skeptical person, believing you get what you pay for. In this case, the Anolon Nonstick Straining Sauce Pan was certainly the "exception to the rule". The pan is fantastic, the perfect size for so many recipes and what a dream to clean at an awesome price!
I would love to see the next size up... for when the family comes home for holidays!
