One mishap with this beautiful jar

The Jar itself has a nice weight, the glass does not feel to thin as was my fear. Along with the stand I also purchased, this jar took center stage on my buffet table. It's large and beautiful and I received many complements. Half way thru the event the spigot began to leak, as I tried to tighted it, the leak turned into a slow stream. We had to quickly dump the tea into another container and tighten the spigot. After damage control, tea was back on the table and no further mishaps. I suppose it was designed to come apart for cleaning? Don't know but now I will alway check for tightness before filling. The spigot is plastic and a metal spigot would give this jar a high end look but it looks pretty good looking as is. There are rubber seals around the spigot but I do fear overtightening could crack the glass. Overall, I love the jar, but didn't give it the highest rating because of the spigot design.
