I can't believe how poorly these perform!

by Kathryn, WI

I am extremely displeased with this purchase. I ordered these attachments for my Kitchen-Aid stand mixer so I could get rid of my old Oster Kitchen Center with similar attachments. I am a long time cook and used the grinder, etc, a lot. I gave the Oster away and bitterly regret it!! The new grinder is difficult to assemble and grinds poorly, slow and inefficient. The housings do not fit snugly and there are gaps in the assembly that allow unground food to squeeze through and out the front, into the food that actually manages to get ground. I used it to grind a small amount of fresh pork for spring rolls and it was a mess! The meat squeezed out the front, not through the blades, and it just did a bad job over all. When I finally got done and disassembled the unit for cleaning, I discovered I had lost several (probably three or four) ounces of the pound or so I was processing. When I tried to shred the cabbage, peppers, onions, etc for the spring rolls, the shredder performed just as badly, with uncut vegetables getting squeezed out the front of the machine, mixing in with the cut items, and the shredder, when disassembled, was just filled with chunks of crushed veggies. The hopper for the shredder will not stay propped open to be filled but must be held open with one hand while you try and fill it with your other hand. I have, sadly, also paid good money for the sausage attachments that go with the meat grinder, but cannot imagine trying to make sausages with this grinder. What a waste of money and of my time. I will now have to go out and purchase a separate meat grinder to do what I need to get done.

Kitchenaid Rotor slicer/shredder accessory

by Jude, PA
January 8, 2008

I bought this before the holidays to help with the holiday dinner. It sliced 10 lbs of potatoes in 5 minutes. It sliced 6 lbs of onions for onion soup in about 5 minutes. My kitchen did not smell like onions nor were there many tears. It whirred through the task quickly and effortlessly. I LOVE my mixer and this slicer. In the past, I have used a food processor and the potatoes and onions have jammed and been a nuisance. I have not used the meat grinder at this time.

Definitely a keeper!

I ordered the accessory package with our 5 qt.Pro stand mixer and found that the use for most of the attachments is unlimited for time-saving prep work. Construction is rugged and cleanup is a breeze! The package includes a hard plastic safety feed tool, as opposed to the pictured wooden ads -- but its intended use is not compromised. Through curiousity, I contacted the manufacturer and learned that replacement of wood with plastic is an anti-bacterial issue, especially with raw meets in a warm kitchen. Makes sense to me, plus I don't have to oil the plastic! All-in-all, I'm very satisified with the accessories and the continued good service from Cooking.Com. (and for us wood lovers, I'm sure they will replace the picture).

Kitchen Aid Mixer & Access.

by Leila, MI

The attachment package adds some very good flexability to the mixer. I really like the salad maker/grater. The only problem I have found is that carrots stain the white plastic on the shredder. Most of the stain comes off with a little extra scrubbing and some good cleaner.

THIS IS EXCELLENT. WE NOW GRIND UP OUR OWN PORK,VEAL AND BEEF FOR MEATLOAF MIXES. WE GRIND UP OUR OWN CHICKEN FOR JUST LIKE THE DELI CHICKEN SALAD AND CHICKEN AND TURKEY BURGERS.
WE'VE HAD NO BOG DOWN PROBLEMS WITH IT AND WE'VE USED IT SEVERAL TIMES.
THE SLICER/SHREDDER HAVE ALSO BEEN A BIG HELP TO ME AS I HAVE ARTHRITIS. NO MORE ACHY WRISTS FROM SLICING OR SHREDDING.
AS FAR AS PRICING, THE BEST WAY TO BUY THIS IS AS A PACKAGE DEAL. IT WILL PAY FOR ITSELF BELIEVE ME IN THE MONEY YOU SAVE AND FAT YOU CAN ELIMINATE IN YOUR MEATS.
NOONE CAN SAY

I wanted to get this pack since I got my mixer 3 years ago. I looked all over. Sears, Wal Mart, Fred Myer, Gattchalks, Costco, ebay.... No one could even come close to the pice Betty Crocker has! So don't wait get it now! I love it. I use it to shred cheese. I can do this as I need it or in advance. Either way it only takes a few minutes! Great time saver and money saver!

I have been looking for a better price on this accessory pack for a long time. The same pack on KitchenAid.com was $45 more. This is a great value.

We recently had a new addition to our family (a little boy). We bought this Kitchen-Aid attachment set to make our own baby food at home. We really enjoy the food grinder. We use this accessory pack weekly without problems since the build quality is great.

I really like the attachments when I figure out how to use them. It takes a little practice to get them on correctly but once they are, they work fine.

Great Package

by Aida, DC
January 8, 2007

We have used the grinder at least 6 times in the last couple of weeks for grinding beef for hamburgers and making sausages. The product worked well but for the pusher. I wish it came with the wooden pusher as shown on the picture instead of the plastic one that is with the package. The strainer I used to make tomato sauce and it worked well.
We did have some trouble when the connecting metal clasp piece where attachments attach on the mixer fell. So we had to replace the mixer.

It grated potatoes like a pro. Haven't tried the slicer yet but I'm sure it will work great. I got it mainly so we could grind lean meat into hamburger. I would highly recommend this product.

Solid Accessories!

by Erica, PA
February 16, 2011

I consider myself a semi professional cook/baker owning a small business doing jobs by referral out of my home. I purchased this attachment bundle for a 600 series stand mixer. I'm very pleased with the craftsmanship of this product; parts are solid and heavy duty. I have used it multiple times so far and find it easy to use and easy to clean. Has not failed to do any job yet, it is quick and efficient. KitchenAid is the first small appliance brand I turn to!

Some items I've processed:
Grated 10lbs extra sharp cheese at one time, carrots. Sliced cucumbers cleanly without pulping them. Used meat grinder to rice potatoes, make apple sauce. Juicer is great for soft fruits, however handles carrots, etc

If you have a KitchenAid then you already know how useful they are, but adding these accessories will convince you to get rid of those other appliances that clutter your valuable cabinet and counter space. These plug in to the accessory port easily and work seamlessly with the controls.

KitchenAid Accessories-a good buy

by Judith, AR
January 13, 2012

Got the 3 piece accessory pack with the slicer, grinder, etc. My mom had purchased just the slicer option direct from KitchenAid and paid almost as much as I did for the 3 piece accessory pack. I love these things. It makes making coleslaw, ground meat, sausage, and jellies so easy. Well worth the price and then some.

This is an OUSTANDING attachment set for the KitchenAid!!! I Love it! My favorite attachment is the food grinder...it grinds partially frozen & thawed meats with great ease & the best part about it...my KitchenAid doesn't even act like it's working very hard. The motor stays very comfortable with very little warmth. The other attachments are very nice too & all are very easy to clean. These attachments were made very well & FOR the KitchenAid...it's easily noticed when they're in use.

*If you don't get this set, I highly recommend getting the Food Grinder attachment...it is worth it & you won't be sorry! If you have a good food processor, the roto slicer/shredder & fruit/veggie strainer aren't necessary.
