Lobster Pot

by Roger, ON
March 3, 2008

The pot was everything I had hoped for and then some as it did crab legs PERFECTLY... My only dissapointment was the fact that there was no recipe book with regards to shell fish(cooking times, soups, etc). Once again, great produce.

Pot does the job, two sections don't sucure together well. Make sure it's on straight. Pot itself feels and looks cheap. Feel like I should have spent $20 on it, not what I did. I saw some other Steamers after I purchased this that were 10 times better in quality as far as the material go's. But they were also $50 more expensive.

I cannot wait to use this steamer on the beach next summer. It should hold enough for a whole beach party and that is just how I plan to use it. Thank you!

I love the way this product works and I use it a lot as Im a crab fisherman..however after the first use I noticed the enamel was beginning to chip off the inside of the pot.. after several uses the enamel is comming off the bottom of the steamer pot and basket..

Pot Coating

by Robert, CA
August 22, 2007

This is the second Lobster and Clam Steamer set I have owned. The coating does seem to be fragile as with the first one a minor dent caused it to chip and ultimately rust. This one came wit few small chips in it even though it was carefully packed for shipment.

I HAVE HAD A SIMILAR LOBSTER POT/STEAMER FOR 38 YEARS. IT FINALLY SPRUNG A LEAK AND WAS NO LONGER USEABLE. I WAS SO PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO REPLACE MY POT, AND THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE. I LOVE FOOD NETWORK!

This is the best steamer for Lobsters and Clams - the spout for getting the steaming hot water for dipping the clams - not all steamer have this feature and it is key if you are a New Englander and want to have a traditional Clam Bake

Fragile

by Jean, IL
February 9, 2007

It's completely our fault for not realizing how fragile Granite Ware is. We used it once and as we were washing it, I accidentally knocked it to the ground and the entire pot crumbled before our eyes.

Super nice steamer... just tried it out the other day with some Maine lobsters... they turned out great! Thought the valve might leak... but, it held up in the heat... hope it stays that way! Would highly recommend this pot! We plan on getting some good use of it!

the perfect steamer

by Dino, NY
February 14, 2011

This purchase was a replacement for the same product that I had and loved for many years. This one is big enough to do lobsters, crabs or to make a bouillabaisse.

I only gave it a 4 because I haven't had a chance to use my steamer as of yet but I am very happy with what I received for the money I paid for it. Reminds me of the one my family had growing up and will serve it's purpose just fine.

Only one issue

I would have been happier with this if I hadn't had to attach the spout myself, but I am otherwise very satisfied with the product. Can hardly wait to steam some crab legs!

Great Steam Pot

This was the first steam pot I ever purchased, and I am glad to say, it is the best! It really holds a lot of seafood, and it cleans up fairly easy. I Love It!!!

Love, love, love this pot!!

by kelli, FL
February 8, 2007

I purchased this to add to a gourmet basket that was being raffled off at my son's preschool. My husband and I were given a lobster pot for a new house present and it was no where near the quality of this one. This one is awesome to include the spigot because it is very messy trying to get all the broth out after you've steamed your shellfish. The spigot is so simple and easy!

The winner of the raffle has told me everytime she sees me that she loves the pot and uses it for other things besides steaming/cooking shellfish.
