It's well made, measured and found saucepan holds exactly 2 qts as it should and double boiler piece holds 1 1/2 qts which, in my view, makes it a standard sized piece. If the top portion were any taller there would be a stability/safety issue. I bought two other pieces from this line after trying out the double boiler.

i have many recipes that require a double boiler the first thing i tried was a coconut cream pie it turned out great.it makes a difference using a double boiler instead of 2 pots that don't go together i am very happy with this product

I believe the description of this double boiler set specified it was a 2 qt. I found, however, that the top part held only 6 cups of liquid, possibly 7 if it was filled to the brim. I had hoped to be able to put in 2 qts. of liquid. It's a nice set though and I just cut my recipe in half.

I just love the Paula Deen cookware. My Grandma used to have copper bottom pots so I had to have them. The best feature is the glass lids. I like to see how the cooking process is going. The delivery was fast too!
