This is one the best, little known items ever! I previously owned an air popper machine that took up room and didn't do anything but pop corn. This container is WONDERFUL. You can microwave anything in it, not just popcorn. It cooks things evenly and the lid has air vents. It's also easy to take off when you remove it from the microwave and you don't burn your hands from the steam. It's great, I bought some as presents too!
I had become so dissatisfied with the microwave popcorns offered at the supermarkets. They were all so ladened with salt, bad fats, artificial flavors and ingredients you can't pronounced. I wanted to take control of what went into my favorite snack food, to make it healthier, and still have a great tasting product. This popper produces a great popped kernel, big and fluffy. To 1/3 cup kernels, I drizzle a small amount of olive oil on top with also a small pat of butter. As the butter melts, its flavor is dispersed through the oil and then throughout the popcorn. I eat it right out of the bowl. It's amazing to see how such a small amount of kernels pops up to such a large amount of popcorn. Then you realize how much money was wasted on substandard packaged microwave popcorn. I highly recommend this product.
This works great. I am happy with it. All you do is put 1/2 cup of popcorn into it, no oil, put the lid on and stick it in the microwave for 3-5 mins......and voila! Done perfectly. EASY, no fat......cleanup is not even needed--I'm not kidding!

I followed the instructions on how to pop popcorn in this thing. It does a fairly good job. My main gripe is that it never pops all the kernels. It usually leaves a quarter of them unpoppped. Other than that, it's less messy than using a pot on the stove and less noisy than those air poppers.
Used this twice.....didn't work too well the first time but it may have been the popcorn. The second time we used different popcorn and it did a better job. I put olive oil in the bottom as suggested and a little butter on the top of the popcorn. Not sure if it made a differenct or not...have to try it plain and see.
I used to use a paper bag to pop popcorn in the microwave, and that worked, but not tremendously well. This works wonderfully, and pops more of the kernels than any other method I've used. The bowl is very sturdy, and though the lid just sits on the top, it keeps popcorn from flying out of it.
No more bulky machine to store! This bowl works perfectly every time. It is simple to use and you can choose what toppings, if any, to put on. The bowl is easy to store and can be used to serve other food too. Good-bye microwave popcorn with powdered butter, good-bye air popper with your hard to clean parts.
Does a good job with the no-buttered popcorn. Only problem is that the plastic top eventually warps and the kernels pop out if you don't weigh down the plastic top. I personally use 3 Corian plates to hold the top down. [To get salt to stick on the popped popcorn, use a little Pam spray.]
I was a little skeptical about how this would work but it is amazing. I am an avid popcorn fan and this is the best purchase I have made for my kitchen in a long time. I would highly recommend this product. SO much cheaper than buying the pre-packaged microwave popcorn where you don't really know what all the chemicals are that have been added. Great product!
I had an electric air popcorn popper which lasted for over twenty years. It finally died. Wanted to replace it but no longer being made so I opted for a microwave one instead. I hit the jackpot with the popper by Nordic Ware. Not only does it pop fantastic tasting popcorn but I can use the bowl as a serving bowl for other dishes. Rating it a Best 5 star item. Definitely recommend this product to anyone needing a popcorn popper. Sincerely, Debbie
I was amazed that this popper was metal and would go in the microwave. I'd like to know the secret of that! Is it in the paint?
I just used it for the first time today even though I have had it for a couple of weeks. I works just like advertised. Great popcorn from it.
I absolutely love the microwave popper. I must watch my salt and fat intake, and this helps me. I do not buy microwaveable popcorn because it does not taste fresh and no matter what type you buy, there is too much sodium.
It makes just enough popcorn for me, and almost every kernel pops. I would recommend this to families if they are trying to watch fat and salt intake. Plus its easy to clean up -- no oily mess.
The Popper seemed like a good idea, but to this point, it's been a disappointment. In each of the 4 times I've used it, the popcorn was burned long before the popping slowed down. I imagine you could prevent the burning, but that would mean lots of unpopped corn. I will try this again, but I'm not hopeful.
