This is one the best, little known items ever! I previously owned an air popper machine that took up room and didn't do anything but pop corn. This container is WONDERFUL. You can microwave anything in it, not just popcorn. It cooks things evenly and the lid has air vents. It's also easy to take off when you remove it from the microwave and you don't burn your hands from the steam. It's great, I bought some as presents too!
I had become so dissatisfied with the microwave popcorns offered at the supermarkets. They were all so ladened with salt, bad fats, artificial flavors and ingredients you can't pronounced. I wanted to take control of what went into my favorite snack food, to make it healthier, and still have a great tasting product. This popper produces a great popped kernel, big and fluffy. To 1/3 cup kernels, I drizzle a small amount of olive oil on top with also a small pat of butter. As the butter melts, its flavor is dispersed through the oil and then throughout the popcorn. I eat it right out of the bowl. It's amazing to see how such a small amount of kernels pops up to such a large amount of popcorn. Then you realize how much money was wasted on substandard packaged microwave popcorn. I highly recommend this product.
This works great. I am happy with it. All you do is put 1/2 cup of popcorn into it, no oil, put the lid on and stick it in the microwave for 3-5 mins......and voila! Done perfectly. EASY, no fat......cleanup is not even needed--I'm not kidding!

I absolutely love the microwave popper. I must watch my salt and fat intake, and this helps me. I do not buy microwaveable popcorn because it does not taste fresh and no matter what type you buy, there is too much sodium.
It makes just enough popcorn for me, and almost every kernel pops. I would recommend this to families if they are trying to watch fat and salt intake. Plus its easy to clean up -- no oily mess.
The Popper seemed like a good idea, but to this point, it's been a disappointment. In each of the 4 times I've used it, the popcorn was burned long before the popping slowed down. I imagine you could prevent the burning, but that would mean lots of unpopped corn. I will try this again, but I'm not hopeful.
For years I purchased and popped the prepackaged microwave popcorn, always wishing there was a healthier and more planet-friendly way to get what I wanted: hot, fluffy, fresh popcorn to snack on, both at work and at home. When I discovered this product I was excited to try it, and I could not be more pleased - 1/3 cup of plain popcorn and a bit of salt, and 3-4 minutes in the microwave results in the best popcorn I've ever tasted! The bonus of reasonable price and Made In USA makes it a runaway favorite which coworkers have already asked about and plan to order.
Still trying to get the right popping time in the microwave. The popcorn button doesn't pop all the kernels so i have to push it twice to get the kernels popped. That seems to work & the popcorn is light, fluffy and oh so good with a little grated Parmesan cheese.
I like old-fashioned oil-popped popcorn but hate the mess that goes with cooking it on the stove. The Nordic Ware microwave popper is a solution for me. Lots of commercially prepared microwave popcorns, although very tasty, have lots of calories & too much butter. With the microwave popper, I can control the amount of oil I use as well as the amount of butter to add, if any. I use Smart Balance cooking oil as another healthy option to pop corn in this popper. As others noted, the bowl does get EXTREMELY hot, so be sure to remove from the microwave with potholders or oven mitts.
I wanted a popcorn popper for the microwave oven after having tried several covered bowls, large glass jars, etc. and found that none worked well. I saw the ad for this popper and ordered it. I could not be more pleased. Holds just the right amount of corn, and has not burned a kernel yet. It can be used as a serving bowl, too. I was also amazed at how soon it arrived without any special ordering instructions.
Here's the opportunity to make popcorn in the microwave without the chemicals, butter, and salt determined by the manufacturer. This is a great product. The only word of advice I'd give is to make sure you use a potholder to remove the bowl from the micro.
I bought this popper mainly because I bought some non-microwave popcorn recentlyl and liked the idea of not having to cook it on the stove. Now I'm really glad I did. The popcorn tastes so much better than microwave popcorn. The first time I used the popper I burned it a ltitle, but it was a good gauge of of hot my microwave gets. Since then I've used the popper several times and the popcorn has turned out perfectly every time. The bowl does get hot but it has a useful rim that stays fairly cool.
