The salt box is large enough to hold quite a bit of salt and pepper. I only had the salt & pepper so I used two of the boxes for salt & one for pepper. But you can put any type of seasoning in the boxes. Looks nice on the counter also.

The stacking salt boxes are beautiful and appear to be well made. They do, however have a strong odor from the staining or finishing of the wood. I have put cornstarch in one, baking soda in one, and rice in one to see which, if any, will remove the chemical smell. I really don't want salt to be tainted by it.
