Wonder pan

I learned about this pan while staying with my daughter. I have used a simple stainless steel one forever. When I moved and got a new stove, my old pan rocked on the cooking surface. I had been admiring my daughter's, so it was a good excuse to get the pan she has. I love it. It is large enough to steam any vegetable and the pan is useful too. Easy clean up. It is beautiful and I am most happy.

I've been using Calphalon No Stick pans for years and love them. I've bought them piece by piece when I found a good price on an item. I had purchased the double boiler insert last year but didn't buy the saucepan for the bottom as it was pretty pricey. The double boiler supposedly fits Calphalon 4.5 qt. saucepans so recently I ordered this item thinking it would work. Unfortunately it's the new style and doesn't fit the double boiler insert but is such a great pan than I'm using it for other things. You guessed it, I've order several more Calphalon pans (due to arrive this week) including what I hope it the right 4.5qt saucepan. I love this cookware--No Stick and the Tri-Ply Stainless. It's quality cookware and I love to cook. I've given it a workout in my kitchen and it never disapoints.

Sauce pan with steamer

My husband and I received this pan as a gift and are very happy with it.
The steamer insert just adds to the versatility of the pan plus the pan is a great size. We have a couple other Calphalon pans and find they work very well on our smooth top stove. M. Armstrong

Perfect Fit

The 4.5 qt Sauce Pan with Steamer Insert is a perfect fit between my regular sauce pans and my stock pot. I like the weight and width of the pan. It is great for making soups. The steamer is plenty big for a family size amount of vegetables.

I love my calaphon cookware, very easy to clean and cooks evenly. The handles stay cool on this cookware no matter what temperature you are cooking with do not need hot pads to lift pan off stove. This is wonderful

Great Sauce Pan

I was visiting my daugter and used her 2 qt steamer. I forgot what I was doing and let the steamer boil dry. I wanted to replace it with the same pan, but couldn't find it so I went ahead and ordered the 4.5 qt sauce pan with steamer insert. I apologized because I had burned their pan and gotten one that I was afraid they would think was too big. They LOVE it! It is the perfect size for their 5 member family. They use it everyday as a saucepan and as a steamer. It cleans up in a jiff. I'm really sorry I burned their pan, but it turned out to be a lucky mistake. And, of course, using Cooking.com is never a mistake.

Exceptional and Sizeable Steamer

This pan has is well produced and the pieces align very well. It has been easy to clean and useful both as a steamer and pan. The steamer portion is the correct depth to allow some flexibility in the amount of water added and maximized the space for items to be steamed.

Finally-an easy large steamer...

No more getting the folding steamer that is hard to clean if you've left it to the end of the clean up to wash bits out of. This is just the right size and so easy to rise and set aside for the real washing later. I feel almost like a chef! Thanks so much. Warm regards, Barb

Finally a Wide Steamer

The steamer is wonderful and lives up to the Calphalon reputation. The fact that it is wider than most makes the use even more frequent.

Love this steamer

Do love this steamer, though I will say the pot and insert are HUGE and may present a problem for storage in many kitchens.

Multi use saucepan

This is a great saucepan and steamer and can actually be used for both. Others like this have not always lived up to being used as both a saucepan and steamer. I have already used it many times and as with my other Calphalon item never fails me. This brand is the only one I will buy and recommend them to all my family and friends.

Great Pot

How did I live without this pot . It is my new "go to" pot for almost anything.

This particular piece is large & versatile, works great for a batch of sauce or soup when I don't need the massive capacity of a dutch oven or stock pot. When steaming, the generously sized basket fits well & is a very heavy gauge stainless steel, exceptionally rugged.

Cooking is a joy with quality tools, & Calphalon fits the bill!

Somewhat disappointing

I bough this pot to replace a similar 4 qt steamer - also Calphalon - that is worn out. Shame on me for not paying attention to the dimensions because this pot is not what I expected. Much more bulky that the other pot and a much bigger steamer insert than I wanted. Knowing ths now I would not have made the purchase. Oh well. Item 2 - they have significantly thinned up the wall thickness. I don't know if this will have an effect on durability, but I suspect it might.
