Create your own jams, jellies and fresh fruit preserves in the comfort of your home kitchen with Ball® 4.7-oz. RealFruit Classic Pectin, which is made using fruit pectin, dextrose and citric acid. Whether you prefer classic strawberry jam or want to experiment with unique flavor combinations, this pectin gives you the binding power you need to get smooth, cohesive preserves every single time. If you want a thicker set, you just need to add a little more pectin, and the mouth of the jar is wide enough to accommodate a tablespoon. Your prepared jam can be stored in the refrigerator to use over the next few days or preserved using three easy steps and kept for later use. Create fun gifts of jalapeno-raspberry jelly, cinnamon-apple jam or Meyer lemon marmalade for friends and family, or make multiple jars of peach jam after a bountiful harvest and stock your pantry for the entire year. This bulk bottle lets you make up to 22 half-pint jars of jam in batches of one to 10, so you're in total control over your canning activity. Six tablespoons of this pectin is equivalent to a box of other brands, so you don't need to deal with boxes and boxes of pectin when you're trying to complete a season's worth of canning in one go. If you love homemade jam but have to watch your sugar intake, try one of the reduced-sugar recipes included with this 4.7-ounce jar of pectin. This pectin is made in the U.S.A. and is certified kosher.
I do enjoy using the pectin...but the jars go QUICKLY if you have very much to can. This would be enough for a "hobby" canner who cans in 1/2 pints or a few pints at a time...if you have fruit trees and a garden...this gets expensive...my canner is full each time I use it,and I "can" over and over in order to finish putting up what is possible. A larger "economy" size would be great !!
