This sleek and stylish Cuisinart 4-c. Rice Cooker takes all the guesswork out of serving up fluffy, perfectly moist rice. Inside the beautiful brushed stainless steel housing rests a stainless steel basin, sized to hold up seven cups of whatever you're craving. While this cooker's area of expertise may be rice, brown rice included, it also comes with a stainless steamer insert, so you can prepare the main part of your meal, be it seafood, vegetables, or poultry. Snacks, appetizers and even breakfast are also easy to prepare in the steamer basket; moist dumplings and potstickers come out perfect thanks to the cooker's moist heat, and you can make enough creamy and delicious oatmeal to feed the whole family. This is not only great looking with the stainless steel retro look, but it is simple.
Sure there are the fancy rice cookers with timers, but doesn't setting the timer take time and thinking and organizing? I prefer simple, put the rice and water in and turn the know to cook! Simple, easy and less stuff to break.
This is the rice cooker for those who like it simple and easy.
In 2006 we obtained two rice cookers within a couple weeks of each other. The 4-c. Rice Cooker by Cuisinart works better than cooking rice in a pan of the stove top, but it pales in performance to the other rice cooker we obtained which is a ZOJIRUSHI.
This is a great rice cooker. After having tried several others, I finally decided to keep this one. You really can't over or under cook your rice because you just turn the cooker on and it turns itself off when the rice is done.
I have several other Cuisinart stainless appliances and love the look, and the quality of them.
Smaller that I expected, but realize it is just right. It looks so nice on the countertop, and doesn't take up a lot of valuable space. My Brown Rice was a bit al dente the first time, but I simply added an extra 1/4 th cup of liquid the next time and it was fine. Have not used the steamer basket, but I know l will love that feature. Overall I am pleased.
I liked the rice cooker itself. I found the Instruction book very frustrating and not clearly written. This is complicated by the inclusion of a rice measuring cup that is actually 3/4 of a cup. They refer back and forth in the book between the "rice cup" and a standard 1 cup measure. I found it strange that there are no portions for Basmati rice.
I really think the book could have been written more clearly.
