Bring home a kitchen cutlery essential with the Shun Classic 4-in. Paring Knife. It's an excellent choice for peeling potatoes, hulling or coring fruit and many more kitchen tasks that require the precision of a smaller blade. All Shun Classic knives have a unique VG-MAX stainless core that provides added strength and promotes edge retention to keep your knife-maintenance chores to a minimum, and multiple layers of Damascus stainless steel cladding protect the cutting core for added durability. We love the extra-thin edge that gives this blade exceptional sharpness so you can power through the toughest tasks. This 4-inch paring knife is handcrafted and sports a slight curve to the blade to promote the necessary rocking motion when mincing garlic or herbs, as well as a fine tip that's ideal for intricate garnish work. A full bolster offers a safe and secure grip and additional balance to give you the ultimate control when slicing, dicing or mincing. This Shun paring knife's handle is made of PakkaWood ®, a resin-impregnated hardwood that won't absorb moisture, and ergonomic contours make the handle easier and more comfortable to hold. This exquisite cutlery is covered by a lifetime warranty so you can purchase it with confidence.

  • Best parer ever

The Shun line is nothing short of exemplary. Well-balanced, easy to control, and comfortable to hold. The steel takes an extremely keen edge, and holds it as well as any knife I've used, other than the better ceramic knives. All this in a design that is beautiful to behold. I know this sounds like ad copy, but the knife is really terrific.

    I recommend this product.

  • Shun paring knife

I have a large Shun chef's knife and use it a lot. It keeps a sharp edge and has a feel of high quality. I had an old generic paring knife I had purchased in Paris 35 years ago, so I was ready for a replacement. The price was right, so I leapt at the chance to get this new paring knife. It has that same quality I liked in the chef's knife, but the blade is too long to do some tasks (removing the core from a tomato or strawberry, for instance). It works very well for mincing shallots or garlic, peeling potatoes, and taking corn off the cob. Overall, I like the knife, but I wish I had paid closer attention to the clearly-stated dimension. Four inches is too long for a paring knife blade.

    I recommend this product.

  • Best knives I've ever owned

I am one of those people who try everything from Ginsu knives to the pricey chef's store brands and these are the best ones I've ever used. Shun Knives make chopping chores a cinch. Never realized how easy chopping could be till I had these. I have the paring knife, utility knife and 7.5 in. santoku and I can't wait to get a couple more.

    I recommend this product.

  • Shun 4 Inch Pairing Knife

This is my second Shun knife purchase. They are not only easy to sharpen and keep sharp but are among the easiest knives to handle when cutting. They are well balanced and the "D" shaped handles make for a very comfortable full grip.

    I recommend this product.
