I got this and some ball jars and got to work. I've already made apple chutney and a pear sauce and this kit has been great. It really gives you what you need as far as the basics go - and the tools inside have actually come to use in my kitchen in other ways too.

Great essential equipment. Funnel good for filling jars keeping rims clean. Handle for lifting jars out easy to use and makes canning easier.
