These are great looking knives for a great price. The handles are brushed metal along the top but are a black rubber surface on most of the handle for a nice firm grip. I have big hands so I like a beefy handle but they aren't so big that average to small hands would have trouble.
The blade is micro-serrated so they can't be sharpened like high end kitchen knives but they are sharp and work great right out of the box.
The packaging recommends hand washing and I would too because i would worry about how to deal with those serrations if they get dulled. But if you are already used to giving knives that special treatment it shouldn't be an issue.

I love the knives!They are very sharp, and I managed to cut myself already!(not Badly!)After using the same old dull knives for years,they are wonderful!Haven't had a steak yet with them,but have used with pork and a ham!

Though I haven't used these yet, they look like they have a great edge. I have a lot of high quality knives from great companies. These are on a par with them.

So, I thought I'd ordered another brand and was a little disappointed when I realized my confusion, but we gave them a chance and WOW-- these knives are great! Comfortable and light to hold, and a great edge, they are the perfect addition to our kitchenware collection!

This is the 2nd time I've ordered these knives. Started out with 4 and liked them so much I ordered two more sets. They are sharp, are well balanced and look very nice on the table. We really like them. Thanks for a great product at a good price. EVERYTHING I have purchased from cooking.com has been received in a timely manner and well packed. I've never had breakage or had to return anything for any reason. If you are hesitating purchasing from this company because this is a new site for you, I don't think you will be sorry if you give them a try. Cooking.com is A-1

Very happy with these knives; agree with others that the cushioned handle is an extra nice touch. Extremely sharp; I used to cut very ripe tomatoes and they did a fabulous job. Am considering another set for general use.

Great sharp knives! Work really well with cutting vegetables. Not sure yet how I'm going to sharpen them, but for now this set has been a great purchase.
