Go into any professional test kitchen and you'll find an array of measuring cups just like these: strong, durable, dishwasher-safe, constructed of 18/8 stainless steel, with clear size markings that make the job of controlling amounts practically foolproof. Avoid flimsy dime-store plastic measuring cups and opt for a basic set that gives you the necessary 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, and 1 cup measures. Another word of advice: parents of young children may need to buy an extra set for the playroom--kids think they make a terrific set of miniature cooking pots.

Thess have a really good solid weight. They are flat bottomed, so they will stand up on the counter without tipping over, and the engraved measurements are nice because they won't sratch off. I like them very much overall.

These are nothing like Humpty Dumpty...

A couple years ago I bought my dad a really pricey set of Cuisinart cups that nested beautifully and had short little handles that were great for scooping out of a narrow container, but the first time we unpacked them and put them on the counter we found they just keeled over at the slightest change in wind. They were fine when they were full, but we still felt kinda nervous about pouring liquids into them. This set by Amco is perfect. The handles are nice and light, there is no way they are going to tip over and the steel is even thicker than the Cuisinart set I bought. The measures are also really clearly marked and not painted on like so many others. They are nice and sturdy like everything I've used from Amco. Spending $15 on a set of cups I'll use for the rest of my life is a no brainer in my books

Very good -- buy two sets!

After dealing with improperly weighted measuring cups for several years (the heavy handles caused the empty cups to tip over), I lost patience and ordered two sets of these Amco cups. I believe they were recommended by Cook's Illustrated or some other third-party source. They are perfectly weighted, so you can place the empty cups on the counter and pour ingredients into them -- no tipping. The metal is very sturdy, so it would be difficult to bend the handles. All in all, a great buy.

Expected quality like that of my stainless steel cookware. Not even close.

I have always been partial to steel measuring cups but the handles have either been too week and bend or too heavy and tip when filled. These have a long, narrow handle and are PERFECT!
