Thess have a really good solid weight. They are flat bottomed, so they will stand up on the counter without tipping over, and the engraved measurements are nice because they won't sratch off. I like them very much overall.
A couple years ago I bought my dad a really pricey set of Cuisinart cups that nested beautifully and had short little handles that were great for scooping out of a narrow container, but the first time we unpacked them and put them on the counter we found they just keeled over at the slightest change in wind. They were fine when they were full, but we still felt kinda nervous about pouring liquids into them. This set by Amco is perfect. The handles are nice and light, there is no way they are going to tip over and the steel is even thicker than the Cuisinart set I bought. The measures are also really clearly marked and not painted on like so many others. They are nice and sturdy like everything I've used from Amco. Spending $15 on a set of cups I'll use for the rest of my life is a no brainer in my books
I guess this is a case of getting what you pay for. Sure, you get stainless steel measuring cups, but the quality isn't really there. The handles are thin and have unfinished edges that are uncomfortable to hold. If you can afford it, I go for the All-Clad set, otherwise, the OXO measuring cups are better for the price..
I love these measuring cups. They are sturdy and stable. They don't tip over when there is nothing in them. They are well balanced. A sturdy stainless steel measuring cup is always a plus. The clean-up is great and they have a decent length on the handles.
When I first opened the box, I thought this was exactly what I wanted -- simple, flat-bottom cups that are well made but not super heavy like some premium models. Then I started to actually use them, and realized the thin handle is very flimsy and bends easily if you aren't careful. I bent the handle on one of the smaller cups just washing it before first use. Then when I used the one-cup measure to scoop out flour from the bag, that one started to bend too. I will make do with these for now, but I can tell I'll have to get one of the heavy duty sets eventually.
