If you are looking for a huge capacity fryer, move on. I was looking for an easy to care for, versatile, med. sized fryer. That is exactly what I got. This pan can be used for many other chores in cooking which I already have experimented with. You can cook in the basket and remove eliminating the need for a colander, or simply cook something such as soup, sauces, or fry. The construction is truly heavy and, be warned the pan is heavy. You will need both hands to lift it when full. The bottom is thick and heats beautifully and evenly. The lid is see through, well designed to work with the basket. I love it, have already used it a handful of times and have only had it three days. This pan is easy to clean and dishwasher safe. This is going to be an often used pan in my house. Stainless steel, what more could you ask for? Oh and one more thing, the price was right. Enjoy

We have fixed onion rings with some hamburger's. Deep fried some eggplant, zucchini and my husband wanted to try some banna's. Listen everything turned out great. We are giving the pot a 5 star .I've also cooked some beans in it.

Well designed and the perfect size for us and attractive too. We leave it on our new gas range and get good comments all the time. Thanks

My Paula Dean 4 qt deep fryer reminds me of my Grandmothers old fashioned deep fryer so I was very pleased when I saw it. It does a wonderful job but I was a little disappointed. I followed the directions about using baking soda and hot water and soaking for 20 minutes to remove an invisible coating from the bottom of the pan.My pan still had dark spots on the pretty copper bottom that I couldn't get off. I like to hang my pots so it didn't look so good after it had been used. Other than that its a good pan.
