This was a gift for my sister, but she used it when I visited. As with any new piece of equipment some bugs need to be worked out - such as:
1 - purchase asparagus spears that are large enough so they don't slide through the basket.
2 - Work out what is best - steam or boil
3 - Timing
It is, however, a beautiful piece and made up to All-Clad's standards.

There are two features that I would like to see improved. First, the lid is not tight fitting. The second is the inner basket, through which many of the asparagus stems fell, when lifting the basket to empty it.
Overall, a good addition to the kitchen
I have quite a few pieces of All-Clad stainless cookware, and this one maintains the standard I've come to associate with the line. It has solid construction, performs well and is easy to clean.

I also use it for making corn : it will fit 4 or 5 cobs which turn out crunchier and tastier than when they are boiled.
Honestly, I don't see myself ever making asparagus in this pot. But, it's the perfect size for making a pot of competition chili. It holds the right amount for judging, has a heavy bottom, and doesn't take up much room on the Coleman Stove...Enjoy!

I have a set of All-Clad Limited that I have had for years and still love them.
Not only is this a great asparagus steamer, but my husband took one look at it and said "wow - you got me a miniature sized deep fryer pot - let's deep fry a cornish game hen!"

Someone else wrote that the asparagas slipped throught he basket but I buy the thinnest asparagas I can find and did not have that problem. I was amazed at the sale price but then noticed that it was the regular price at the William Sonama store...no matter, because I didn't pay shipping charges.

Since it doesn't sit sideways in a pan, it steam cooks and doesn't fall through the basket. I feel like I have a professional piece of cookware. The price was great too.
