Dishwasher safe?

I love all my calphalon products but had to buy a new lid for one of my sauté pans after the original shattered in the dishwasher. I was stunned because (1) it was supposed to be dishwasher safe and (2) I had washed it in the dishwasher many times before. Don't know whether it was the heat, movement or some structural flaw but it was a mess tO clean uP and I had to buy another. CK

Replacement lid

Fits like a glove.... Last lid was dropped on floor and it shattered. It would be nice if the glass used was like windshield safety glass so it broke into little squares instead of small sharp pieces.
