A full-tang design provides better balance and superior strength. In addition, the name of each knife is etched into the end of its handle, so there's never a doubt which knife you're pulling out of the block. Contemporary Cutlery is backed by a lifetime warranty.

Knife Construction: Crafted from high-carbon, no-stain German steel with Molybdenum and Vanadium. Tempered, heat-hardened to 1000°C, HRC 54-56 (Hardness Rockwell "C" scale; a standard measurement of hardness). Fully tapered from cutting edge to spine and from tip to heel for superior strength.

Key Performance: Balance of knives, strength and durability of blades. Blades' ability to be honed and maintain its edge. Knife identification on butt of handle.

Sharp and balanced

This fluted Santoku knife was a great buy. A 7-inch blade makes for a better general purpose knife. This item arrived with a noticeably sharp edge. The thickness and quality of the steel was especially pleasing - not a heavy clunker

Magnificant Knife

This was my second purchase of this knife and I have to say, it is of exceptional quality, lightweight and easy to handle. It is extremely sharp and does the job in minimal time. I think the manufacturer should consider a case as they are too sharp to leave in the drawer unprotected.

Perfect Multi-purpose Knife and Great Value!

I LOVE this style knife. got the shorter one for myself since I have small hands and it is so sharp and works perfectly! I will be buying more Calphalon cutlery. The price is deceptively low for the quality of the product.
