    Sharp and balanced

    by Ken, HI
    February 21, 2009

This fluted Santoku knife was a great buy. A 7-inch blade makes for a better general purpose knife. This item arrived with a noticeably sharp edge. The thickness and quality of the steel was especially pleasing - not a heavy clunker

    Magnificant Knife

    by Valerie, OH
    March 1, 2009

This was my second purchase of this knife and I have to say, it is of exceptional quality, lightweight and easy to handle. It is extremely sharp and does the job in minimal time. I think the manufacturer should consider a case as they are too sharp to leave in the drawer unprotected.

Perfect Multi-purpose Knife and Great Value!

    April 28, 2009

I LOVE this style knife. got the shorter one for myself since I have small hands and it is so sharp and works perfectly! I will be buying more Calphalon cutlery. The price is deceptively low for the quality of the product.

    Katana vs Contemporary

    by steven, MA
    February 1, 2012

Calphalon has gone to the price point end of the spectrum with their Contemporary line. I was looking for a Katana Series Santoku which is apparently being phased out. Katana is much higher quality steel, thickness and overall quality however at a much higher price point. The Contemp is OK- a good value. we'll see how long it holds an edge...

    Calphalon at its BEST!!

    by Betsy, GA
    March 6, 2012

This knife was purchased as an addition to my existing Calphalon set. It has proven to be a GREAT investment! I find myself pulling out this specific knife the most because of its fit to my hand. I have better control over this knife because of the weight and fit. LOVE IT!!!

I got this knife as a gift myself, and liked it so much I ordered five of them to give to my daughters and daughter-in-law for Christmas. Now wish I'd got one for each granddaughter too. Maybe next year.
