Not for fat-free cooking

Bought it to try out a healthy alternative that had potential for non-stick with "light oil". Used a LOT of oil and even soaking and scraping, couldn't get a simple egg out of the pan without terrorizing it and couldn't even get the egg residue out cleaning it. It is a very durable and quality pan, but it has limited uses and not friendly trying to clean it.

I am giving this as a gift to my sister who LOVES to cook and loves Calphalon. She is a serious cook and puts everything to the test. This is a great value and I know she will love it.

Covered Saute Pan (5 qt.)

This is a fantastic pan, sure to become an all-time favorite in our house. I gave only 4 out of 5 stars for this product because Calphalon has redesigned the handle of this pan. The handle used to be thicker. The new, thinner handle is much more difficult to get a good grip on and hold, especially on such a heavy pan. We own all of Calphalon's commercial line and are extremely pleased. Cooking is a delight and cleanup is a breeze with just a minute or so of soaking.

Saute and more

I have had a pan like this from Calphalon for over 6 years and I loved it! I used it everyday to saute, fry chicken, bacon, cook burgers, and making pancakes. The the coating inside started peeling out. I saw this pan was on sale and bought a new one. The new one has a totally different coating inside than the last one and so I do not think peeling will be a problem. I have 10 pans and griddle from Calphalon and have been using them for over 12 years. That was the only pan I have ever had a problem with. I love my Calphalon cookware!

We purchased this pan to replace a worn out saute pan we use almost every day. The Calphalon is by far the best-constructed and most thoughtfully designed saute pan we've ever tried. It is our preferred brand for cookware.

Perfect!

This pan fits our burner perfectly. Very easy to clean even tho it's not non-stick.

Great Size

I needed a larger pan for my eastern dishes and this completely fills those needs. It's amazing its so light for it's size. And if you don't have a strong arm it has a front handle. Love this pan.

Ok

Good sale price and glad it came with lid. The metal rim on the lid bent when lightly bumped. Handle is too slim, hard to grip. Pan is too wide for normal cabinet so needs special storage. Very heavy pot. Short handle gets very hot. It works for cooking, but not special enough for premium name or price.

Excellent value for the price

I ordered this pan to replace a twenty year old pan that was losing its nonstick coating. The only downside is that I replaced a 3 qt pan with a 5 qt pan. This is a BIG pan, and larger than I need most times. Other than that its a great saute pan.

Id looked for a perfect pan to replace my old nonstick pan that had become "not" non-stick. I found this one at a great price and i knew it was the one for me !!

Great Everyday Pan

I love my Calphalon! I have been wanting a saute pan for a while and could not pass up this great deal! This pan heat fasts and even and really holds the heat. The saute pan is great for all kinds of cooking. You can get a good sear on meat and cleanup is a breeze!

Wait and See

I have not used the product as yet so I cannot write a review on how well meals will turn out; however from the looks of it, it seems to be a whole-some product, heavy, sturdy construction and a pot that will last for many years. How the coating will stand up over time remains to be seen, but for the most part it seems as though I will have some good cooking experiences with this pot.

Terrible Quality of product

My family has used this saute pan 3 times and the product is already warped. We have taken great care to let the pan cool to room temperature and wash it by hand carefully. Additionally, the food sticks to the pan each time, even when butter or oil is added. This is a terrible product.

I like to be able to use my pan for sauteing and then put it in the oven if necessary. The pans with the rubber handles just don't cut it.

Awesome pan!!!! Once I saw the quality of this pan...I went back online and purchased the entire hard anodized line that was offered.

great cookware!

I love my calphalon - there's nothing like it! I love the even heating and the weight - not too heavy to use easily but substantial - the perfect combination of weight and thick heat distribution. The new cool handle works perfectly. The lid seals perfectly and the food I'm cooking is easily visible. I've cooked with stainless, cast iron, non-stick, you name it - I love this calphalon the best!

I bought this one to replace an older one which has a warped bottom So be careful of the heat and remember to let the pan cool Down before putting cold water in it

Perfect all around saute pan

I use it like a Dutch oven. Perfect for browning pot roast or chicken and then finish by braising with vegetables. Good pan for risotto as well. Can't beat the online price versus retail. Shipped immediately & received in 4 days.
