Slicing and peeling mangoes has always been a messy and awkward process. The OXO Mango Splitter makes short work of the task and results in a cleanly split fruit that is easy to scoop out of the skin. I heartily recommend this tool.

love mangoes? you'll love the Oxo Splitter

by Shirley, FL

Mangoes are my passion. It's difficult to say which variety tastes best. The Oxo Mango Splitter makes the decision unnecessry. It cuts through all the varieties easily, leaving little or no waste around the seed -- a challenge when using just a knife. Best to cut them when they are still firm. If soft, the blades a not quite sharp enough and the cuts have to be started with a knife - then it works like it's supposed to. Thanks Oxo for a great tool.

Makes life easier

by Ruth, AZ

Mangoes are a favorite fruit in our household but cutting them into servings is a chore, especially cutting around the pit. This tool makes it so much easier to do and it washes and stores easily. I'm so happy to have found it online. I have not found one in any of the kitchen gadget stores in my area, although I can't understand why. Mangoes are very popular in Arizona.

I bought this item as a birthday gift for a family member who enjoys eating mangoes. When this product was used it did the job it was designed to do. I haven't seen it work, but I am told it does a really good job.

Everything Oxo makes is high quality and well designed. The Mango Splitter works as advertised. It slices out the seed with very little effort and leaves the fruit intact. It's a good, sturdy utensil that makes slicing mangos as easy as coring an apple.

Mango Madness

by Rachel, FL
July 27, 2009

I live in South Florida and we are in the midst of mango season. This product is a HUGE time saver and a great value for the money. We have mangoes of all sizes, including some the size of your head. I didn't think it would work on the giant ones but we were able to get it most of the way down (and completely around the seed) and then pull it back up to finish splitting with a knife. Normally, it's near impossible to guess where the seeds are in those, but it worked its way perfectly close to the seed even though it couldn't handle the fat end. It works best on mangoes that aren't overripe but it does a way faster and better job than you can do with a knife. I don't know what people are talking about with the bad reviews! If you have an overripe mango, it mushes and you can't get super-close to the seed with a knife anyway! If you're that worried about wasting a smidgen of mango, suck the flesh off the seed! (It's usually a little fibrous there anyway - yuck!) This is a GREAT product and I would highly recommend it! I've been cutting mangoes for years and am pretty adept, but this cut a good 1/3rd off the time it took me to make mango salsa AND I didn't have to worry about the knife slipping because my hands were covered in mango juice. So easy and safe, a kid could do it!

Mango Splitter

Not wide enough for "fatter" mangos. I guess I expected more to this product. Since there is no bottom holder sometimes the slip factor happens.

Have you ever cut a mango with a knife? If so, buy this and you will wonder how you ever managed before. It takes literally ONE second to push the mango splitter by OXO down through the fruit. The scoring of each cheek is, of course, the same as the manual method. However, you get so much more edible fruit away from the seed. If you love mango, you MUST own this.

Mango Splitter by OXO

by Robert, MA
February 10, 2007

This splitter is only useful for small mangos. I brought it back to Australia, and it is useless on the delicious larger mangos that are common here. A good design would feature spring-loaded blades that adjust to the mango size.

Does Exactly What It's Supposed to

by Walter E, NY
April 8, 2008

A little pressure, down you go and there it is, that troublesome mango seed all by itself, leaving you two halves of mango flesh to easily scoop out. I'm very happy with this kitchen gadget. And being made by OXO, it just feels good in your hands.
