Great Product at a not so great price

This product is quick & easy to use, saving both the time & fuss of otherwise cutting a mango. However, we've recently seen these in our local grocery store & could have done better on the price.

Unless the mango is underripe, this product doesn't work. I used it on a ripe. juice mango, and it just mushed it rather than cutting through it. Made a real mess! It did get the seed separated, but I could have done it just as well (or better) with a sharp knife.

I only bought mangos once in a great, great while for the sole reason that they were pain in the butt to slice. I would end up getting different sized chunks and I just ended up butchering the mango. Now I have about 2-3 mangos a week because they are kind of expensive. But this mango slicer is amazing. It is PERFECT for the awkward mango seed and only a minute edible part is left.

For me this product is unuseable.

The order was received very promptly. However I found I could not use it; my right hand is not strong enough to push the cutter down the mango. I have returned it.

It works but is difficult to operate unless the mango is very ripe, that results in the fruit being crushed. The condition of the fruit is critical.

If you love to eat mangos, watch out...you'll be eating even more if you buy this product. Hard to believe, but this really does work, and you'll be eating mangos quick and easy, left and right! Buy a few for friends, they'll be appreciative and suprised!!

The mango splitter really doesn't work very well with a ripe mango. It mashed the mango, rather than slicing it nicely from the seed.

Well, only tried it on one kinda overripe mango. I haven't given it a fair shot yet but it seems like the blades aren't sharp enough to penetrate the skin.

I always avoided buying mangoes because I could never successfully peel & core them without wasting alot of the fruit. This gadget is simple & easy to use, with little fruit waste. It has started me buying mangoes again.

This was hard to use. It's hard to balance the mango on one of it's ends, and the splitter isn't sharp enough to get through tough skin, so sometimes you have to kind of help it along. Also hard to get leverage to split the mango, because of the design.

This came highly recommended, from Cooks Illustrated. And for as much as we enjoy mangos, I was really looking forward to using this. But of the four mangos I have used it on, only one of them was cleanly pitted. The other three only worked for the top half, then it twisted and I had to finish with the knife anyway. Perhaps they need to be not as ripe to do the job well. Anyway, it was disappointing.

IT MAY BE SLIGHTLY OVER PRICED. THE SHIPPING CHARGE WAS APPROXIMATELY THE SAME PRICE AS THE MANGO SEEDER.
