Whether you're making a tropical fruit tray for a backyard luau or mango salsa to serve with mambo chicken or seared tuna for a weeknight dinner, this OXO 6.75-in. Good Grips White Mango Splitter makes fast work of an ordinarily tedious job. The splitter lets you remove mango seeds and slice the fruit in half with one simple motion, so you can power through food prep and spend more time enjoying your meal with family. The stainless steel blades are super sharp, so even the softest and ripest fruits in the bunch slice up evenly and quickly. The tool's silicone handles are comfortable and soft, and they're nonslip by design, making the splitter safe to use even with slippery fingers. Because it's designed for efficiency, this splitter reduces waste in the kitchen by leaving behind almost nothing but the seed, so you preserve more of the flesh for making mango chutney, mango and avocado salad, or a frosty mango and peach Bellini. Features:
  • Cuts mangos in half and removes seeds in one quick motion
  • Preserves more flesh from the mango for reduced wasteStainless steel blades are sharp and easily cut ripe or soft fruitComfortable silicone nonslip handles offer a safe and secure gripDishwasher safe for expedient cleanup
  • Cleaning & Care: Dishwasher-safe
  • Length: 5.25-in.
  • Material: Plastic and stainless steel
  • Origin: China

  • Mango Splitter

This is a great product once I had practice. Slicing the end off at the stem of the mango is a very important first step and is not on the directions. Without a flat bottom, I had a very hard time.and would have rated the product poorly. I also find it works best with firm fruit that has been refrigerated.

    I recommend this product.

  • Wonderful Device

I heard Bobby Flay say that he would not be without his mango splitter and I fully agree. I makes quick work of a slippery project. I slice a small amount off the bottom to give me a base and split them with the skin intact. I plan to buy a second one for my vacation home.

    I recommend this product.

  • Very Useful

The best way to use the Mango Splitter is to cut off the bottom part of the mango with a knife so it will stand up straight- then use the Mango Splitter. If you don't cut off the bottom the mango has a tendency to roll over when you are trying to use the Mango Splitter.

    I recommend this product.

  • Mango Splitter

Worked great, but then I had trouble getting the flesh away from the peel.
I think next time I will peel the fruit first.

  • Mango splitter

A one-use product is generally not a good investment. This was purchased as a joke for my family. If I ever have more than a dozen mangos to split, I may use it again.

  • This is a great little tool and makes eating a mango sooo much easier. I also love how much of the fruit it cuts off the seed because I clean every seed and use them to make kid's crafts. My grand children have glued them on tag boards to make cactus plants and to make salt water fish and have had hours of fun painting them.

  • It really works

I have wanted to try this Mango gadget for some time, and it really works for most Mangos- a real jumbo one or one that is too ripe/soft may be a challenge though. Im glad I got it, will buy more mangos now! I may even make christmas gift baskets with tropical fruit and include one of these next season!

  • A bit too pricey

I bought this item only because I had a great big discount coming to me. Otherwise, I would not have paid the price for this product..........even though it does work well at what it is designed to do. Sometimes things are simply overpriced.

  • Have only used about four times, but it could be sharper. It certainly saves time & effort coring mangoes, but the initial cut can sometimes be difficult with thicker skinned fruit.

  • Save my fingers, save the fruit.

I've risked my fingers in the past attempting to separate peel and pit from the heart of this wonderful fruit; I only managed to preserve my digits---the fruit became like mince meat.
Oxo's tool makes the chore a much safer and smoother proposition. It produces results one doesn't mind either eating or viewing---and it keeps the

  • Won't Cut Mushy Mangos

This is a really great tool if you have firm mangos, it works just as described, but if your mango has softened, you end up with mango mash, not a neatly sliced piece of fruit. Just a warning for those that like their mangos very ripe, it won't work for them.

I like not having mango juice running down my arm. With the splitter and my knife and fork, I can cut the fruit into neat bites.

Love this mango splitter. I used to buy mangos only to make a favorite pie

  • MANGO SPLITTER IS THE MANGO SQUISHER

I have a small hotel and we serve alot of mangos so I thought this would be great. After ruining several perfect mangos, I thought it must just be me. Several others tried too, all of us don't get it! We have ruined many a mango trying to figure this little device out. The problem as I see it is that mangos are varied in size and so are their pits. The worst part is that when you try, you really squish the mango making it not so good for anything except a smoothie! We read all the positive reviews and sorry, we just don't agree. I must say I am a much more experienced cook than most, and if our kitchen can't get it working....
    WE HATE THIS THING!!!

  • At last, mangos without the mess!

It just works! The best part is that it avoids the problems of trying to find just the right place to slice along the seed and then the mess of holding the mango to slice along the other side. Just press and you have two perfect halves.

This product doesn't work well on the small yellow mangos from Mexico/Sputh America. It leaves too much fruit on the pit. It wourks very well on the larger Phillipines mangos.

  • Peeling mangoes has always been a challenge, so I had my doubts as to whether this would work. One of my frequent errors, prior to acquiring the splitter, is guessing where the seed is located. I followed the directions that came with the splitter, even though they contradicted my thinking, and isolated the seed perfectly every time. This is a great tool. I don't know how I lived without it.
