This rice cooker is the perfect size. It cooks small portions well, but also has the capacity to feed a small dinner party. The non-stick coating is great. I haven't even used the steaming basket, but I already recommend this rice cooker. A cheap but very effective alternative to the "fuzzy" ones.
I got this one because we had a huge rice/vegetable steamer before (different brand) and when the unit switched to the "Warm" mode it kinda' scorched the rice at the bottom. We got this one because the brand was supposedly better and it's smaller because we usually only make 2 cups (cooked) at a time I thought that if we got a smaller one it would do better with smaller quantites. I've used it once and it scorched the rice at the bottom a little, but not as badly. I may need to use more water and play around with it a bit - maybe rinse the rice even more before cooking. I'm pretty sure it's something I'm doing/not doing and not the unit.
I bought the Zojirushi after my old rice cooker breathed its last. I wish I had switched sooner. Following the directions ensures perfectly cooked white rice, and I'm anxious to use it for brown rice too. The nonstick pan is a godsend, having used an older cooker with a standard pan. Clean-up is quick and painless, and you waste less rice since none of it sticks to the pan. Zojirushi is the brand that you see in practically every Asian household, and it's the brand to beat.

Tried similar rice cookers- this is better
I returned or gave away three other brands of rice cookers of this type that I tried out or had used for a while. This one is better in that it does not get so hot that water spews from the vent, but it cooks fast enough that it gets done in a reasonable amount of time.
When I buy something online, I don;t necessarily use it on day one. This rice cooker was no exception. I finally had the time to wash the bowl, steamer and lid and made my first pot of rice (2 cups of rice) for a stir fry. It was perfectly delicious! In two days, between my son and I , we used it three rimes with raves each time!! Nice rice cooker!
This cooker tends to steam over even with small amounts of rice and water, leaving a white pasty residue on the kitchen counter. It does however make good rice quickly. I have checked the vent and it is clear after the cooking process. I can live with this as I put a paper towel under the unit.
Definitely better than the microwave cooker we had before. Still tends to bubble over even without cooking the full 6 cups. Guess the best option would be to go with the 10 cup version even though you may only cook 3-6 cups total final volume. And yes as other reviewers indicate, it is not US standard cups. It is more along the lines of a metric cup. So if you are looking for up to the 6 cups, you may want to go with a 10 cup version.
