  • This rice cooker is the perfect size. It cooks small portions well, but also has the capacity to feed a small dinner party. The non-stick coating is great. I haven't even used the steaming basket, but I already recommend this rice cooker. A cheap but very effective alternative to the "fuzzy" ones.

    I recommend this product.

  • I got this one because we had a huge rice/vegetable steamer before (different brand) and when the unit switched to the "Warm" mode it kinda' scorched the rice at the bottom. We got this one because the brand was supposedly better and it's smaller because we usually only make 2 cups (cooked) at a time I thought that if we got a smaller one it would do better with smaller quantites. I've used it once and it scorched the rice at the bottom a little, but not as badly. I may need to use more water and play around with it a bit - maybe rinse the rice even more before cooking. I'm pretty sure it's something I'm doing/not doing and not the unit.

    I recommend this product.

  • practical and easy to maintain

I bought the Zojirushi after my old rice cooker breathed its last. I wish I had switched sooner. Following the directions ensures perfectly cooked white rice, and I'm anxious to use it for brown rice too. The nonstick pan is a godsend, having used an older cooker with a standard pan. Clean-up is quick and painless, and you waste less rice since none of it sticks to the pan. Zojirushi is the brand that you see in practically every Asian household, and it's the brand to beat.

    I recommend this product.

  • Nice Rice Cooker

When I buy something online, I don;t necessarily use it on day one. This rice cooker was no exception. I finally had the time to wash the bowl, steamer and lid and made my first pot of rice (2 cups of rice) for a stir fry. It was perfectly delicious! In two days, between my son and I , we used it three rimes with raves each time!! Nice rice cooker!

  • Steam over

This cooker tends to steam over even with small amounts of rice and water, leaving a white pasty residue on the kitchen counter. It does however make good rice quickly. I have checked the vent and it is clear after the cooking process. I can live with this as I put a paper towel under the unit.

  • Good cooker.

Definitely better than the microwave cooker we had before. Still tends to bubble over even without cooking the full 6 cups. Guess the best option would be to go with the 10 cup version even though you may only cook 3-6 cups total final volume. And yes as other reviewers indicate, it is not US standard cups. It is more along the lines of a metric cup. So if you are looking for up to the 6 cups, you may want to go with a 10 cup version.

  • Good Asian Rice Cooker

This is a great cooker, almost like the one we have had for 18 years. Being married into a family of Asian backround, there was rice cooked every day. We have been using it since the day it arrived and it works just like the old one, which was very reliable. It has 18 years to stand up to the test, and so far it is on its way to being our favorite little rice cooker.

  • A huge disappointment. I believe there must be a flaw in the heating element of the cooker. It appears to get too hot, cook too fast, liquid comes out all around the edges of the lid, running down the outside of the cooker. When I try to cook brown rice , it throws a large amount of steam debris all around the entire area, requiring clean-up of a sticky mess on kitchen counter tops.A totally unsatisfactory product.

  • A Definite Money Saver

Considering what sushi rice costs, this rice cooker will pay for itself pretty quickly. I've only used it once so far but it performed like a champ. Very easy to use too. Just put the water and rice in, and set it and forget it.

  • Scratched

The non stick pot arrived scratched, but it is probably too big a hassle to return/exchange it. I hope it does not become a bigger scratch.

  • Good product for a reasonable price

This product makes very good rice easily and quick. The more expensive models with programable touch pads look nice, but they are just waiting to break. This simple design works well and produces good results.

  • Rice Cooker Results

We are pleased with the rice cooker. Previously we had one that browned the rice if it weren't turned off. This one cooks nicely. We found that we got a better result if we add a bit more water than recommended. We thought the price was a bit high for the simple mechanism. Overall, though. we are happy with the purchase.

Makers good rice....and is easy to clean up. The steamer tray is a little small but since its primary job is a rice cooker I can't complain
